𝐒𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆, that's all Riley heard. It had been going on for almost an hour now and hadn't stopped.Hiding in her closet with her bunny rabbit clutched against her chest, she waited and waited until everything had calmed, but knowing how her house worked she knew nothing would be calm for long.
But she was wrong. The shouting had stopped. The banging had stopped. There was only silence. A deadly silence. A silence that you don't want to hear. A silence where you couldn't hear a single thing.
Shakily unlocking the latch on her door, she slowly stood up and opened it careful not to make it creak incase her dad would hear her. She stood in the middle of her room making her way quietly towards her bedroom door to see what had made everything so silent.
As she was almost at the door she could hear footsteps running up the stairs and they were coming towards her room.
Her breath starting to pick up she hugged her rabbit tighter and clenched her eyes shut and braced herself for what could come. But nothing came and her door flung open, only to reveal her sister Bronte panting with tears in her eyes and blood on her hands.
Riley had never seen Bronte so panicked before, but there she was looking as if she had just murdered someone. But it only became more panicked when she Riley stood there staring at her.
"Bronte? What's going on?" She asked with confusion written all over her face.
Bronte hesitated, thinking on what to say before she had figured out with what to reply with, "pack your suitcase quickly and you can take some of your toys I'll be back". And with that she left the room, only confusing and worrying Riley more, but nonetheless she begun packing as fast as she could thoughts wizzing around her head as to why and where they were going.

It had been around little while since she had finished packing her suitcase and choosing some toys to take with her, but she was now sitting on the floor of her room waiting for her older sister to come and get her .
Whilst waiting, she decided to play with her my little pony's that she was taking with her to pass the time, but as soon as she picked them up her sister came bursting through the door once again but this time with some dirt on her face and clothes with her own suitcase stood behind her.
"Come on then let's get going". Bronte said with a small smile on her face to calm her nerves but it didn't work as her heart was still pounding in her chest like a drum on steroids.
Standing up Riley asked, "where are we going and is daddy coming with us?". To which Bronte replied "we're just going on a small trip and no he's not coming with us"
Nodding her head, Riley left the room with her sister in tow and dragged her case down the stairs until she reached the bottom. She turned around the corner and was heading to the front door when she noticed that the seat her dad sat on every single hour of the day was empty and pictures that were on the mantelpiece were gone.
Feeling a hand on her shoulder, she looked up at Bronte who gently pushed her forwards towards the door to leave the slightly large but suffocating house.

Once out of the house and in the car, Riley asked the one question Bronte dreaded to answer, "where's dad and why is he not coming with us?".
Taking a sharp breath, Bronte replied with a monotone voice that held no emotion but you could she it on her face.
"He's dead"
Another wave of silence was heard again, but this time you could hear it . You could hear every small noise. This silence could possibly be more worse than what she had heard earlier. You could hear everything, and Riley certainly didn't want to hear that.
Her dad was gone. He wasn't coming back.
But Riley didn't care nor did Bronte.
They were just happy to be free of him and his evil mind.
Their father was dead and he wasn't coming back and they were glad.
