Appledash one shots (slow updates)

(for the record, this isn't rarijack or soarindash, it's Appledash, just wanted to set the record straight, enjoy!!)

squeak squeak.
the sound of polishing glasses could be heard, a woman could be seen, she had blonde hair which was tied into a ponytail, makes sense, after all she was working.

"Phew" she wiped a few droplets of sweat that seemed to remain on her forehead, she'd been working hard all night.

the blonde's name was Applejack, working at the bar was something she really did enjoy, you'd get a few drunken people which she sometimes had to kick out if they got too roudy, but mostly it was good fun.

soon would be closing time, so she was cleaning counters, it was no surprise when the door burst open, revealing a person, they had dazzling purple hair, and striking blue eyes. She beamed at the blonde as she walked up to the counter, sitting on one of the bar stools.

"hey applejack." the purple head girl greeted the blonde. She received a nod back.

"What can I get ya rares" Applejack asked.

"oh, just the usual, you know what I like." she chuckled slightly, leaning her arms on the counter. Applejack showed she understood and went to fetch her drink.

Rares was the nickname Applejack had called her, they'd known each other since they were teenagers. Her actual name was Rarity, and they'd always been there for each other.

Applejack had a concentrated look on her face as she poured Rarity's drink, red wine, Rarity was no doubt but a wine lady, she was classy after all.

"rough night?" Rarity commented as the blonde handed her the drink of wine, which Rarity thanked her for, she gently sipped it.

"nah, it's just the usual, tonight's kinda dead." she sighed, she still had an hour left of work and her bed was calling her name. It was nice of Rarity to see her tho.

"How's being a fashion designer in the big ole city?" She couldn't help but let out a smile, Rarity simply shrugged.

"it's everything! getting to see all the cities, all eyes on my designers, I knew it was everything I always wanted."

Applejack seemed pleased with the fashionista's response. "That's good rare."

"Indeed, I must however go now, I have a new designer that I'm excited to work on" she quickly finished the rest of her wine.

"do ah get a hint?"

"It's bold, it's striking, and fierce" she gave a charming smile, and a wink, before she strolled away in her heels, making a click sound within each step.

talking to Rarity just made her think, if she could achieve her dreams, what's to say Applejack couldn't. even if sometimes it felt like a silly little dream.
and it's like fate knew what was up.

the door slammed open, for the second time in that hour, and the person who walked in, made Applejack's jaw drop open.

Rainbow Dash.

She never thought in a million years, that Rainbow Dash would be in her bar, she hadn't seen her in years, more specifically not since graduation.
Time seemed to stop for Applejack, Rainbow still looked how she always did, but maybe a little tired which made the blonde frown, she had no idea how her former friend was doing.

Rainbow walked up to the bar, sat at a stool.

"get me a beer." her raspy voice half demanded, half asked, she didn't look at the server, if only she knew the server was Applejack.

"Sure thing." she commented, but Rainbow didn't look up.
Applejack seemed to notice that Rainbow was down, her arms propped on the counter and laid her head down, closing her eyes.. she'd already had a bad day, and she needed a drink to take away the pain.

she felt this twinge of guilt, maybe.. she should've been there for Rainbow, was her life really this bad? She looked stressed.

"here you go sugar." Applejack said, which was purely by habit.
sugar.. Rainbow thought to herself, but the only person who would say that is-
at this point she looked up, and it was none other than Applejack.

"heh.. howdy?" Applejack said nervously, this was their first interaction in a while, the rainbow spectrum woman was takes aback. She had no idea that Applejack even worked at a bar.

"H-Hey Applejack." she hesitated slightly, it's like all of her stress from the day had disappeared, and just.. looking at her old friend, it just felt right.

Applejack smiled lightly, before it faded to a more concerned expression.

"you seem down, is everything alright?"

"I guess" she sighed, "it's just.. relationship issues." Rainbow said.

Applejack raised an eyebrow, like she was waiting for an explanation, and finally Rainbow started to explain.

"so yeah, that's everything." Rainbow looked down.

"..wow.." that's all Applejack could say.

"so, soarin dumped you, and then got with someone else, and you think he might've been cheating this whole time?"

"yup." if anything, remembering soarin brought up feelings she wasn't ready to face yet, so she took another mouthful of her beer.

Applejack thought back, everyone was so sure that Rainbow and Soarin were meant to be together, like they were CHS power couple before they graduated.
clearly, there was a lot to talk about.

The two woman had been talking for a while, mostly catching up on things they've missed out during the time they hadn't talked.
currently, they were laughing.

"wait! you took on two guys!" Rainbow was staring in awe at Applejack.

"Yup, working in a bar, you have to deal with a lot of fights." Applejack explained, "like I wasn't gonna let them hurt some lass so I kicked them right out. It's mah bar after all." Applejack said proudly with a smug smile.

"nice!" Rainbow nudged Applejack with her shoulder, she hadn't felt this happy not since.. not since she last spoke to Applejack. Surely that had to mean something.

Applejack was laughing hysterically at her own stories she was telling Rainbow, and she couldn't help but admire the blonde, she had such a cute laugh, and her emerald eyes.. they were just so beautiful to stare into. But maybe it was the alcohol talking.

"hey applejack?" Rainbow said while giggling. Applejack hummed in response, her laughter had finally died down.

"did you know I had a thing for you back in high school?" Rainbow asked like it was the easiest thing in the world to do.
Applejack spluttered.

"what?"
