"Why are you taking him along with you man?", the voice on the other end of the phone sneered at me. It was Michael, the one who hired Nathan as my birthday gift, and my best buddy, who knows every inch of my life.
"I am worried about him Michael, and today, Dr. Rivera visited the home. Nathan was sick ", I replied to him to stop the speculation.
"Why on the earth was he in your house? Weren't there any other doctors?", I can understand the concern in his voice. Though my mind was conversing with him on the phone, my hands were packing up my suitcase for the upcoming trip.
"I thought he might have forgotten everything, but he sounded the same a few years back", I held the phone in my ears and was packing the things for our trip to Japan.
"Alessandro, did he say anything to Nathan?", Michael asked me, a tinge of fear in his voice.
"I don't know Michael, Nathan has not asked me anything about him. Maybe he might have spilled the bean. Who knows.", I assured him.
"Okay, Alessandro be safe there and keep Nathan safe too.", he warned me and hung up the call.
A few days before........
I called my secretary to arrange for a doctor's appointment for Nathan and don't know why he had to call for Dr. Revera, who used to be the best friend of my late wife, Jane. The moment I saw him come to my house, I thought he might have changed and might have stopped accusing me of the death of his best friend.
Before meeting Nathan, he was all good and talked nice, but the moment he examined him and came out, there was a change in his demeanor and he was angry at me.
"You got another boy toy for you after Jane? You ruined her life.", his sarcastic tone made me more and more angry at him. He knew my situation very well and how our marriage happened against my own will all because of my father pushing me to marry Jane. Our marriage was the most messiest thing that has ever happened because Jane has to be ended with Rivera, but things never happen as you wish.
But even though Jane knew about my preference for men and that I had someone in my life, she constantly urged that I need hire for my business and we conceived through IVF.
I cannot risk leaving Nathan alone while I am away for the Japan trip, because Dr. Rivera is capable of going to any extent to take revenge against me.
Nathan looked effortlessly so stylish. His light blue sweater matched his eye color and the elegant white shirt that he wore under the sweater with the collar peeking outside, gave a blend of causality. His dark navy trousers fit him perfectly, accentuating his slim figure. Their clean, white sneakers complimented his outfit for air travel. Never to mention his seductive cologne, is working its magic to make me addicted to him. As a whole he looked like a forbidden fruit, tempting to be eaten right now and every moment near him was making me hard to think of anything but how incredibly alluring he looked.
