Playlist Title: pov: you're slowly falling in love with stephen strange

--

I trot down the stairs to the kitchen with the watch box hidden behind my back. It's been about 45 minutes since Stephen and I last spoke about meeting down in the kitchen. I grin from ear to ear as I round the corner to the kitchen. I see Stephen at the counter mixing something in a bowl when I walk in. Of course, he's here before me. It's like he has some power of getting everywhere 30 minutes before it was said to meet. He's wearing vintage jeans and his light blue University of Columbia sweatshirt.

"And what do you think you're doing?" I question suspiciously, going over to the bar. He turns around with a smile. He looks at my shirt and gasps.

"And who do you think you are wearing my shirt?" he asks sarcastically. I had stolen a few of his shirts because I don't own a lot. I'm wearing one of his old University of Columbia t-shirts.

"Don't change the subject, Doctor. You know I've stolen some of your shirts. Get over it. Now, answer my question. What do you think you're doing?" I interrogate. He sighs, knowing that he's lost this question battle.

"I just thought I would go ahead and get started on making the pancakes," he tells me.

"First off, how do you always beat me to places we're meeting, and second, I told you that I would make the pancakes. I wanted you to relax and not have to worry about it," I explain, pouting. He laughs.

"I guess I'm just fast, and it's okay, y/n. Besides, I didn't want them to you know...get burnt," he lets out with a snarky grin. I roll my eyes.

"You burn a pizza one time, and it's game over for making anything else," I retort. He puts down the big, wooden spoon in the large mixing bowl and walks over to me.

"Y/n, you didn't just burn the pizza. It was on fire. There were flames," he restates.

"Well, you put it out..." I say, looking down. I hear Stephen sigh.

"If it really means that much to you to make the pancakes, I'll let you cook them with me right next to you. In case something happens," he says sincerely. I look up and meet his eyes.

"Really?" I ask.

"Really," he nods.

"Yay!!" I exclaim. "Speaking of something, exciting. Sit down, sit down. I have something to give you!" I say excitedly.

"Already? We haven't even had breakfast yet," Stephen questions.

"Oh, come on, Steph. Have some fun. Besides, I can't wait any longer," I tell him. I keep one hand with the box behind my back as I grab his arm and move him over to sit down at a barstool.

"Okay, okay..." he lets out, letting me guide him.

"Close your eyes," I demand after he sits.

"Y/n..." Stephen says in annoyance.

"Stephen. Close. Your. Eyes," I command. He looks at me with wide eyes and then nods.

"Yes, ma'am," he responds under his breath. I smile with anticipation.

"Now, hold out your hands," I instruct. He holds out his shaky hands, and I place the box in them. "Okay, now open them!" I exclaim. He opens them and looks and me and then at the box. "Go ahead. Open it," I request. He smiles softly.
