Wanda arrived at her house, his parents weren't there yet, but he could see his brother doing his homework as usual on the living room table.

William saw her sister enter the house and he noticed that she was all wet and mad.

-Wanda? What happened?

-A bus ran in front of a water puddle and so... this happened. I'm going to take a bath.

William watched as Wanda stormed off towards the bathroom, her frustration palpable. He felt a pang of concern for his sister and decided to follow her.

-Wanda, wait -he called out, catching up to her -Is there something else bothering you? You seem really upset.

Wanda paused, her shoulders slumping as she turned to face her brother. She sighed heavily, her expression softening slightly.

-William, it's just... everything's a mess right now. I've been trying to help you, to make sure you're okay, and... well, things didn't go as planned.

William frowned, confused.

-What do you mean?

Wanda hesitated, then decided to come clean.

-I was trying to set you up with someone, you know, to help you move on and be happy. But it seems like it backfired.

William's eyes widened in realization.

-You mean Peyton? And all those times you pushed me to spend time with her?

Wanda nodded, looking ashamed.

-I hoped you would develop a relationship with her. I wanted you to be happy together, I thought you would be...

-You don't have to arrange any date for me, Wanda.

-I know... I just... -Wanda thought for a moment to tell everything to William.

-You just what?

-I just...

Wanda took a deep breath, struggling to find the right words.

-I just wanted to help you, William. I saw you struggling, and I thought maybe if you found someone else, it would make things easier. But I think I overstepped.

William nodded slowly, processing her words.

-Someone else?

Wanda hesitated, then nodded.

-Yes, I thought if you found someone to be with, it might help you move on and find happiness. But it seems like I might have gone about it the wrong way.

William's frown deepened, trying to make sense of what she was saying.

-Someone else besides who?

Wanda sighed, knowing she had to be completely honest now.

-Percy. I saw how close you two were getting, and I thought maybe... maybe it would be best if you had someone different in your life. But I see now that was a mistake.

William's eyes widened in realization.

-Wait, you knew about Percy and me?

Wanda nodded again, looking a bit sheepish.

-Yes, I knew. And I thought if I could push you towards someone else, it might make things simpler. But I realize now that I was wrong. I'm sorry, William.

William was silent for a moment, absorbing the information.

So, Peyton was just... a distraction?

Wanda nodded, guilt evident in her expression.

-I didn't mean to make things complicated. I just wanted to make things easier for both of us...

-How would that help you, Wanda?

-It happened long ago, William, time before you and Percy became something...

-What happened? Did you two fight?

-No. The truth is, William, that I don't think you could handle it.

-Wanda, just tell me. Whatever it is, I can handle it. We're siblings, and we should be able to share things.

Wanda took a deep breath, looking torn. Finally, she spoke, her voice barely above a whisper.

-Before you and Percy got close, he and I... we were something like close-friends, we were like an informal couple, so we weren't a couple yet! -Wanda freaked out and started yelling all the truth -He... he confesed to me a long time ago and he wanted to have our parents and your blessing for us to be together, that's why he talked to you in the first place and things took a complicated turn...

William's eyes widened.

-You two were in love? Why... why didn't you tell me?

Wanda looked down, tears welling up in her eyes.

-Because it didn't last, William. It was complicated, and I didn't want to burden you with it. When Percy and I started spending time together, it was great, but things changed. We never became an official couple, and I never told you because I didn't want to make things awkward or hurt you.

William's expression softened.

-I'm sorry, Wanda...

-What? No! You shouldn't apologize! Nothing here is your fault!

-Yes, it is. It was because of me you and Percy aren't happy.

-William, Percy is happy! He is happy with you not with me!

-No he's not. He's probably just faking it...

-What? No, William, you misunderstood everything!

-I'm going to my bedroom.

William grabbed his things without saying a word and locked himself in his bedroom.

Wanda stood outside William's door, feeling a mixture of frustration and sadness. She knocked gently, but there was no response. Taking a deep breath, she leaned against the door, trying to find the right words.

-William, please listen to me -she said softly, her voice trembling -You didn't ruin anything. Percy and I... it just wasn't meant to be. But you and Percy, you have something real. I see the way he looks at you, and I know he cares about you deeply. Please don't shut him out because of me.

Inside the room, William sat on his bed, staring at the wall. He heard Wanda's words, but his mind was swirling with doubt and confusion. He felt guilty, as if he had unwittingly come between his sister and someone she cared about.

Wanda continued, desperation creeping into her voice.

-William, I just want you to be happy. And I know Percy does too. Please, don't let my mistakes ruin what you have with him. Talk to him. Tell him how you feel.

There was a long silence, and Wanda wondered if William would respond. Finally, she heard a soft sigh from the other side of the door.

-I need some time to think, Wanda -William said quietly -I just... I need to figure things out.

Wanda nodded, even though he couldn't see her.

-Okay, take your time. But please, don't push Percy away. He needs you just as much as you need him.

With that, Wanda stepped away from the door, giving William the space he needed. She hoped that, in time, he would come to understand that his happiness and Percy's were intertwined, and that they could support each other through this difficult time.
