Unseen Scars

They only lie to you
They break you, they hurt you,
they stab you, they practically kill you emotionally.

They use their words,
with an eclectic blend of their thoughts and actions.
People, people, people.
They pretend
They make you feel like all is well,
Like nothing ever happened but they are the cause of your pain and despair.

Sleepless nights,
twisting and turning vigorously,
drenching my pillow with tears.
They enjoy the pleasure of ruining my present and tainting, staining my past.

After everything, they ask for forgiveness. You forgive them
But you can't just let them in.
At the slightest slack they force themselves in and break you all over again.
Putting you through the same trauma, purposely taking your gorgeous smile to put on their hideous face.

My eyes puffy, my head banging,
Hot familiar tears rolling down my face,
My breathing hitched,
My body shaking, flinching at any touch.
After everything no one understands, you're left in the dark.

This is pain, this is my pain.
