Endeavor… lived up to every brutal expectation. Hana had taken a direct blast from him, her body marred with third-degree burns covering nearly a third of her skin. Mydoria, stepping up as the team’s medic, gritted his teeth as he worked quickly, applying biofoam to her burns and administering a shot of morphine to numb the pain. His hands were steady, but his heart pounded, the reality of the situation weighing heavily on him.

Amy’s expression was a mix of fury and frustration. This wasn’t supposed to happen. It was a training exercise, yet here they were with real injuries and real danger. “This is a disaster,” she muttered. “We weren’t supposed to end up with actual casualties.”

“This isn’t good,” Mydoria said as he finished tending to Hana. “Eagle’s down!”

Katsuki, wide-eyed and shaken, stared at the sight, frozen in place. Amy’s sharp voice cut through his shock. “Sparkler! Snap out of it!”

Katsuki swallowed hard, finding his focus again. “Journal,” he muttered, glancing at Mydoria, “you’ve got the tranqs, right?”

Mydoria nodded, catching on to Katsuki’s idea. “I do.”

“Then let’s use ‘em,” Katsuki said, his tone shifting to one of grim determination.

“Do it!” barked Amy, urgency thick in her voice.

Albert, keeping watch from behind their cover, shouted, “Better hurry! He’s coming this way!”

Without another word, Mydoria and Katsuki dashed from their cover, sprinting toward Endeavor with everything they had. Endeavor noticed the movement, his eyes narrowing, and he smirked as he prepared to meet them head-on.

But Katsuki struck first, launching a powerful explosion that momentarily blinded and disoriented Endeavor. The pro hero chuckled, undeterred. “Nice try, little marine, but I, the mighty—” Before he could finish, Mydoria sprang from behind Katsuki and latched onto Endeavor’s back, clinging to his neck.

“Get off me, you little—” Endeavor growled, but his words cut short as Mydoria jabbed the tranquilizer charges into the base of his neck. The hero flinched, fire flaring uncontrollably as Mydoria felt the searing heat against his hands and forearms. He stifled a scream, pushing through the pain until he felt Endeavor’s grip weaken.

Endeavor tried to speak again, but the tranquilizer took effect, and his fiery aura faded as he slumped forward, unconscious.

“Journal! I got you!” Katsuki shouted, rushing over to pull Mydoria out of the danger zone. He hoisted Mydoria over his shoulder and carried him back to cover, where Amy and Albert were waiting. By the time they reached safety, Mydoria’s burns had left him trembling, his body slipping into shock.

“Thank you, Sparkler,” Amy said with a tight nod, quickly turning her attention to Mydoria. She worked swiftly, wrapping his burns and administering painkillers. She motioned to Albert, “Hold down the position and keep an eye on the wounded. Katsuki, you’re with me.”

Together, Amy and Katsuki pressed deeper into the bunker. They moved efficiently, locating Edgeshot, who went down under a well-placed explosion and a barrage of stun rounds. Amy’s hand shot to the computer, retrieving the hard drive with their intel, while Katsuki finished off by destroying the remaining equipment to ensure nothing was left behind.

Their objective secured, Amy radioed in for extraction, and soon, the helicopter arrived to retrieve them. With the wounded safely on board and the mission complete, Amy glanced over her team, a mix of pride and relief crossing her face. They had faced one of the strongest heroes and survived, their resolve and teamwork tested in ways they couldn’t have anticipated. The stakes were clear, and as the helicopter lifted off, the team knew they were more prepared—and more resilient—than they’d ever realized.

When Mydoria opened his eyes, he was met with the bright lights of the hospital ward, his body feeling strangely refreshed. Most of his injuries were no longer throbbing, and he realized with a start that they had been healed.

“Good to see you’re finally awake, Sony,” Recovery Girl greeted him warmly, a hint of relief in her voice.

“Did… did we win?” he asked, his voice scratchy.

At that moment, his mother, Inko, burst into the room, her face a mixture of worry and overwhelming relief. “Izuku!” she cried, rushing to his bedside and wrapping him in a fierce hug. “Oh, I’m so glad to see you’re safe! What were you thinking, doing something that reckless?!”

Izuku smiled softly, patting his mom’s shoulder. “Glad to see you too, Mom.”

Amy stood nearby, her face a mix of sternness and admiration. “We completed the operation because of your courage, Journal,” she said, folding her arms. “But that was reckless as hell! Still… thank you. You made a difference out there.”

Inko looked over at Amy, her worry immediately morphing into frustration. “Why did you let him do something so dangerous?!”

Izuku squeezed his mother’s hand. “Mom, I couldn’t stand by and watch more people get hurt—or worse. I did what I had to do. I’m sorry for making you worry, but it was my choice.”

Inko tightened her hug, fresh tears welling in her eyes. “I know, honey. I know. I just… I nearly had a heart attack when I heard what happened. But… you really are a hero.”

Amy cleared her throat, drawing their attention back to her. “Speaking of which,” she said, reaching into her jacket pocket, “I have something for you.”

She brought out a small box, flipping it open to reveal a glinting medal inside—a Purple Heart. Inko gasped, her hands flying up to cover her mouth as she choked back a sob, tears of pride shining in her eyes.

Amy stepped forward and placed the medal in Mydoria’s hand. “Congratulations, Mydoria,” she said, her tone formal yet sincere. She raised her hand in a sharp salute, a gesture of respect for his bravery and sacrifice.

Mydoria’s eyes widened as he stared at the medal in his hand, the weight of it—both literal and symbolic—sinking in. He managed a small smile, though his voice wavered. “Thank you.”

Amy lowered her salute and softened her expression. “Take a few weeks off,” she said, her tone gentle now. “You’ve more than earned it.”

Inko hugged him once more, holding him tightly as the emotions of pride, relief, and worry all flowed together. And for the first time, Mydoria let himself relax, feeling both the warmth of his mother’s embrace and the quiet pride in his accomplishment.
