Izuku waited at the mall, scanning the crowd for Miko. Amy, his commanding officer, had given him paid leave—a surprise in itself. But the bigger surprise was seeing Amy approaching with Miko by her side, the two laughing as they walked together. They clearly knew each other well.

“Laidlaw?” Izuku exclaimed, startled.

“Relax, private,” Amy replied with a faint smile. “I’m just making sure my granddaughter arrives safely.”

“Hey, Midoriya!” Miko greeted him with a grin. “Wait—you know Gran?”

Izuku blinked, still piecing it together. “She’s... in charge of my training unit,” he said, glancing at Amy.

“What? No way!” Miko’s eyes widened. “You’re really a Marine?! I mean, you told me the other day, but I thought you were just messing with me.”

“Marine Cadet,” Amy corrected with a small chuckle.

Izuku nodded. “Yeah, still got a ways to go.”

Then Amy’s expression shifted to a no-nonsense look as she focused on him. “Listen up, Journal,” she said, using his callsign. “While you’re on leave, you’ll be sticking to public places with Miko. I’m not letting you tarnish the Corps with any... unwise choices around my granddaughter. You’re both still fourteen, so enjoy being young while you can. When those years are gone, they’re gone. And that goes for you too, Miko! I know you like Midoriya, but absolutely no love hotels. Minimum age is sixteen for that.”

Miko’s face flushed deep red. “Wha—Gran! How did you—”

Amy laughed knowingly. “You don’t get to be my age without recognizing the signs of a crush,” she said with a wink. Then she turned back to Izuku, her tone serious. “And remember, Midoriya, as a Marine, you’re bound by our rules—even outside of training. You represent us, so act like it. Understood?”

“Yes, ma’am,” Izuku replied, managing to stand a little straighter despite his embarrassment.

With a playful eye roll, Amy gave Miko’s shoulder a squeeze. “You kids have fun,” she said before heading off, leaving the two teenagers with flushed faces and a newfound awareness of each other.

The date went smoothly. Izuku and Miko watched a new action movie, sharing laughs and whispered commentary, followed by lunch at a small café nearby. They chatted easily, Miko teasing him about his serious demeanor in training, and Izuku shyly asking about her favorite parts of school. The time passed quickly, and soon Amy arrived to pick up her granddaughter, giving Izuku a knowing smile as she waved him goodbye.

When Izuku got home, Inko was waiting, a curious smile on her face. “How’d it go?” she asked, trying to act casual but clearly eager to hear about his first date.

“Went well,” Izuku replied, his cheeks faintly pink. “She’s… really great.”

Inko chuckled, patting his shoulder as he headed to his room, a bit dazed with excitement. The rest of the day passed uneventfully, but Izuku’s mind replayed every moment of his time with Miko, barely able to believe he was now dating someone.

Over the next two weeks, he and Miko grew closer, officially becoming a couple. Word spread quickly at Aldera Junior High, and Izuku’s classmates began to view him differently—not just for his impressive accomplishments but as someone approachable and inspiring. A few even signed up for the Advanced Quirkless Military Cadet Conditioning Program (AQMCCP), impressed by Izuku’s achievements and wanting to follow in his footsteps.

His new friends became an unexpected support system, trading training tips, comparing notes on their fitness goals, and sharing ideas on how to make the best of the program. For the first time, Izuku felt like he had real friends who understood his journey and were committed to similar goals.

And through it all, Miko stayed by his side, cheering him on and occasionally surprising him with little acts of support—like sneaking in handwritten notes or bringing him snacks on training days. By the end of his leave, Izuku was feeling more prepared and encouraged than ever, ready to dive back into training and give it his all.

(A/N): that's a wrap. The AQMCCP is the Anti Quirk Marine Corp Cadet Program. Decided to start calling it that because of United States law stating you must be 17 to enlist in the Marines.

This program is to train cadets for the Anti Quirk Combat Containment Unit of the USMC. Which is a unit that deals with Quirk Terrorism and Rogue Quirk user the Heroes can't handle.

This season of the story is about three thirds of the way through.
