snowed in - M + A (CUTE!!)

8:47pm, in the nursery.

it was cold outside, well yeah.. it was In the middle of December and it was snowing heavily. the two women in the office, Autumn and Marjorie were talking, they both liked the snow marjorie more so, as she loved having childish snowball fights with the other staff like, carly or charlotte. Autumn on the other hand just liked the cold, she did find herself smiling at seeing the staff getting snowballs chucked at them through the window by Marjorie when she left work as Autumn left later than Marjorie on all days except Thursdays.

"oh wow, look at it out there.. I can't see half of my car.. glad all the parents came before all of this." Marjorie said to the other woman in the office.

"hm, I'm more concerned about leaving."  Autumn said her usual tone.

"oh, I completely forgot about that.. I hope we aren't like, snowed in or something.." Marjorie said back as she stood up walking to the window seeing how it was almost up to the windowsill.

"I hope not, the heatings broke I'm freezing." Autumn said feeling herself shivering slightly.

"oh I'm warm, i couldn't be dealing with the heating on  its hot in this office." Marjorie said sitting back down in her chair.

"how? I'm shivering.. this office has never been warm.." Autumn said as she pulled her sleeves over her hands to keep them warm.

"bless, I'll have to see if we can do something about it in here then.." Marjorie said seeing how Autumn was shivering.

9:00p.m.

it was time for them to shut the nursery for the night as autumn left the office to lock the nearby doors she came back right after she left the office.

"autumn? you can't have already locked the doors?"
Marjorie asked as she looked at autumn with a confused look.

"you can't see outside through the door.." Autumn said as she looked out the window seeing how the snow was still very heavy and it was only piling at the door of the nursery.

"oh god, your joking.. how are we going to get out?" Marjorie said as she looked out the office seeing the only door they can get out of was 3/4 of just snow..

"I'm.. freezing in here.. I don't need this tonight.." Autumn said as she was still shivering slightly.

"here put this on, I'll see if I can call anyone to help.." Marjorie said passing autumn her jacket.

"hum, thanks..." autumn said taking it as Marjorie went to the other office to see if she could get ahold of anyone, as she put the jacket on, it was pretty big on autumn as she was shorter than Marjorie.. it did keep her warm though.

autumn went and sat back down at her desk hugging her knees trying to keep warm. she couldn't help but find the smell of it comforting as well, it was how marjorie usually smelt.

*in the other office!*

"pick up pick up-.. did he just hang up? ughhh!!" Marjorie said as she muttered about how useless Roger was under her breath..

she shook her head as she dialed his number several times getting nothing each time. she angrily put the phone back down as she walked back out the office realising they were basically screwed until the snow melted a bit.

she was about to speak when she approached the open office door seeing autumn in her jacket hugging her knees at her desk. she felt a strange sense of.. calm.. at the sight infront of her, of autumn..

she took a deep breath shaking the feeling off before she spoke,  "I'm back, so.. he hung up several times and no one else actually picked up.. so I think we have to wait until it melts.." marjorie said seeing autumn lift her head up wearily.. she was obviously tired..

"..oh.. he's not keeping his car next time I see it," autumn said tiredly as she looked towards her bat in the corner of the office.

"ah, there isn't any need for that.. I'll see if Reece can pick up I'm sure he will!"marjorie said not noticing the look on autumns face.

autumn pov: it's always reece.. always.. I've liked Marjorie since god knows.. I've never told her or even signalled it.. so.. of course she's going to go after my.. brother.. you know... I wonder a lot about what happened to us.. we were attached at the hip... would take bullets for eachother when we were kids.. then.. he changed.

"autumn"

makes me wonder what changed..

"autumn?"

why is he always chosen over me?

"uh..autumn?"

I love her.

"AUTUMN!!"

"huh?!" autumn said jumping a bit at the sudden yell.

"are you okay? you.. zoned out..." marjorie said she looked concerned..

"oh.. yeah I do that sometimes sorry.." autumn said she was never said sorry and to make matters worse she was clearly in deep thought.

"..for 20 minutes? that's not.. normal.. and your apologising.. what's going on with you?" Marjorie asked sitting in her office chair looking at autumn.

"nothing.. anyways what did...he say.." autumn said not saying Reece's name but also making it slightly obvious she was talking about Reece.

"he can't do anything he's snowed in his house it's funny-.." Marjorie said before autumn interrupted her.

"I love you." autumn said out of no where she was surprised she said it.. she didn't think about it she just.. said it? the room was filled with silence.. autumn could feel the regret sinking in..

"..what?" marjorie asked her voice ringing In autumns ears.

"..never mind." autumn said quickly after.. hoping with all her heart marjorie didn't hear her..

"autumn-.. why didn't you say anything sooner?" Marjorie asked her voice sounded.. light.. not angry or.. disgusted..

"..huh?" she managed to get out she was lost for words almost before she felt a pair of lips against hers.. gentle.. and kind..

they were like that for a little while before Marjorie pulled away.

"sorry.." she sheepishly said sort of embarrassed.

"no no.. it's.. fine.. i-.. can you do it again.." autumn said her voice.. gentle..

"..really?" Marjorie asked seeing autumn nod, she wasted no time in doing it again.

they spent the night together in the office snuggled up on the floor, the snow just getting worse.. but they didn't care.. they finally felt at peace.. and that's when autumn felt, happiness for the first time in a while.
