Prologue.
Lucia's POV
A numbness takes over me as I arrive at my therapy office. You'd think a new chapter would be empowering and liberating but for some reason it's everything but empowering.
Im angry, I feel lost and in my most vulnerable state.
Its been a week since I ended my engagement and parts of me still haven't began grieving. I don't think anyone ever prepares you for leaving the woman you've been with for 5 years. The woman you've watched sink and swim, The woman you've watched become so many different versions of herself, The woman who used to love me the way I've always wanted to be loved.
I wish this process wasn't so.. hard.
I take a deep breath and turn off my car. I finally opened the door dreading the therapy session ahead of me. Don't get me wrong.. therapy is my escape but having to relive everything never gets easier. I'll never understand wanting my voice to be heard but knowing how vulnerable I have to be for someone to hear me, the real me.
I enter the office and sit in the waiting area. The office itself is beautiful. Fountains, Buddha's .... all that cute shit. It's crazy how they decorate therapy offices just for you to still be a depressed bitch when you walk in.
