Jasper woke slowly, nervous of what he would wake up to. He didn't know what to expect and it took him a long moment to dare to open his eyes. His body felt like his again and nothing hurt. He was warm and he could feel the weight of a heavy blanket encompassing him like a cocoon. He felt at peace despite his nerves and he didn't want to wake up. He wanted to just be back a home, with his girlfriend, studying for school or going to parties, but he wasn't.
Sighing, he opened his eyes and just stared at the ceiling above him for a long time. It took him a moment to recognize that he was lying on an extremely giant bed and when he did, he sat up. The blanket on top of him was similar to a weighted blanket and there were countless more surrounding him. He was in the center of the soft bed that seemed like it would be the size of his bedroom back home. The room itself was only slightly bigger than the bed, with just enough room on one side to get to the what he assumed was a closet and an exit door. The only light in the bedroom came from the large window on the side of the bedroom, barely shielded by the very pale brown curtains covering them.
Wary, Jasper pulled the blanket off of him. He was surprised to find himself dressed in child-like clothing. He was wearing a green shirt with an unfamiliar, alien animal on it and his shorts had a various aray of balls that were eerily similar to footballs, baseballs and basketballs. The most surprising of it all was how bare his skin was. There were no scars nor blemishes, no hair aside from the top of his head and his muscle tone was filled out a lot more than he remembered it being. Sure there was no sign of much fat on his body and he was still unhealthily skinny, but he wasn't just skin and bones either.
He didn't know where he was and his brain went straight to this being some sort of sick trick from Throx. Make him think was safe before subjecting him to even more horrors over and over again. With the way his mind was heading he felt like he was going head first into a panic attack and a slippery slope down into actually believing that all of this was some sick game and he'd rather die than sit here paranoid about what might happen.
After what felt like eternity lying there and nothing happening, Jasper slowly inched to the edge of the bed, debating on what he needed to do. If this wasn't some sick game by Throx then where was he? The last thing he remembered was being mocked by Throx for being useless and not needing him anymore.
Wait? Did that mean he wasn't with Throx anymore? Was the torture finally over? The small sliver of glee that he felt at the realization that he couldn't possibly be with Throx anymore was overshadowed by the fact that now he was somewhere completely different and didn't even know what to expect.
A small gurgle from his stomach made him aware of just how hungry he was. His abdomen felt like it was having small cramps and he sighed. He couldn't stay in this room and just wait to see what happened and he certainly didn't want to find out who was keeping him here if it was someone he didn't already know. Which meant that if it wasn't Pax or Atrius than he was screwed. After everything Throx had put him through and the warning Atrius had given him back on the ship, there was no way in hell he would be leaving the safety of a house.
Carefully slipping off onto the bed that came up to his shoulders, Jasper made his way over to the bedroom door. The dark gray carpet on the floor was soft on his The door was huge and the door knob was also at the height of his shoulders. Everything here was larger than back home, but not so large that the difference was readily noticeable, but enough to make him uncomfortable. He grabbed the door knob and turned the handle, elated to find that it wasn't locked or anything.
As the door started to open, an awful screeching sound came from it's hinges and Jasper immediately froze, his heart hammering against his chest, fearing that whoever else was here would have heard and come running. Jasper stood there frozen, listening for the sounds of anyone coming towards the door, but when he didn't hear anything and his heart finally stopped pounding in his ears, he pulled the door open further, trying not to freak out over the sound coming from the hinges.
