"Remember when we first started talking?" Drew leaned his head back onto Hailey's shoulder.

Lia's and Zoey's shoes clicked on the marble floors of the mall in sync, Drew walked behind the two, distracted by his phone. The two ladies stopped Infront of a store with an unintelligible french sounding name.

"Drewy!~" Zoey extended her hand, in regards to receiving Drew's credit card. She gets what she wants.

Drew leaned back onto the glass by the store. He placed his wallet onto the arm rest of a bench. He propped his leg onto the glass and hummed to the music blasting through his airpod.

Waiting for the girls, he walked back and forth, stopping by another store and waiting there.

Hailey walked the slightly crowded mall with Zander and Luke. "Well, look. It's only fair if I get another tie, right?" Zander batted his eyelashs to Luke, "I guess so.." Luke muttered, just loud enough for Zander to hear.

..

"Okay, I am not going with you guys. It's like I'm third wheeling! Tie shopping is boring." Hailey huffed, annoyed by her step-brother's antics. "Well! Then you'll be alone." Zander smirked, waiting for Hailey's input. "Fine, as long as I don't have to be with you lovebirds. I'm starting to understand how Milly feels." Hailey whispered the last part to herself.

Hailey walked alone in the loud mall, noticing a bench and settling down onto it. She melted into the touch of the bench, her sore and tired feet and back simply rested; till she noticed a wallet.

The black slick, fancy looking wallet made her think of someone. Drew. Drew's wallet. She cocked her head forward, seeing his ID. Yeah, that was definitely Drew.

She looked around her surroundings, she noticed Zoey and Lia in the store right next to her, Drew no where to be found. She turned her head the other way around, noticing a couple of magenta strands of hair in the crowd. She gulped, hoping this wasn't going to be awkward.

She grabbed the wallet and made her way to Drew, looks like he was lost in the music he was easing into. Hailey tapped his shoulder, Drew paused his music. He turned around assuming it was Zoey; he was surprised and met with someone else. Hailey.

"Hailey?" Drew simply said annoyed as well as in a questionable tone. "The hell.." his words trailed off. He took in Hailey's features. Her grey to jet black gradient eyes pierced into his in a good way. Her light and small freckles dotted on her cheeks, her pink lip oil glossed over her lips beautifully. The way her wavy teal hair spread across her forehead, why did he only notice now?

"Uh, you forgot this." She handed over his wallet, Drew's eyes widened, happy in the act Hailey partook in. Drew reached and grabbed it in seconds. "Thanks." Drew muttered under his breath, hoping Hailey didn't hear.

She did.

"Your, uh, welcome." Hailey scratched the back of her neck, before she could walk away, Drew asked her a question.

"The concert is coming up..right?" Drew wasn't sure why he felt like this. But he didn't want this conversation to end, not yet. Something compelled him to continue.

"Yeah? Like in a month, why do you ask." Hailey sounded skeptical. "Curious." Drew said monotone. Wishing he put out more enthusiasm into his words.

"Is Jake also going to be there?"

"Yeah, he's there."

"You gonna sing this time?" Drew sounded genuinely curious, "I.." her words trailed off, her eyes darted everywhere but Drew's own pair.

"Are you going to try this time? I guess...you have Jake to help right?"

"Yeah, I guess so." Hailey didn't understand, why was Drew acting so different? Why did she like it?

"So...you guys been treating Jake well, right?" Drew only kept going with the questions, he wished they weren't about Jake though. "Sure, I would say so." Hailey said over the busy mall noises that it produced.

..

They continued their conversation, a couple of smiles and laughs slipping into their conversation. Why did they both enjoy this?

Hailey turned, noticing Luke and Zander exiting the store. "I'll see you at school." Hailey waved goodbye, her face turned red. Mainly just from embarrassment. Did this mean they were friends?

Drew felt like they should be.

"Don't make me remember that, I was so nervous!" Hailey playfully pushed Drew's head.
