(Russia’s POV)
Today is the day I confess my feelings to my friend America.
I’ve been crushing on him for about a year now, but I’ve always been scared to say anything. I worry he’ll reject me or that it might ruin our friendship. But today, I’ve finally decided to go for it.
That’s why I’m in my closet, picking out some nice clothes to wear. I called America earlier and asked if we could meet at the park later. He said yes, and that got me excited... and a little nervous.
Once I’m done getting ready, I head to the park where we’re supposed to meet.

(America’s POV)
I’m waiting for Russia at the park, where we agreed to meet.
I’m not sure why he wanted to meet here, but I didn’t question it. I just showed up.
After a few minutes of waiting, I see Russia walking toward me. He looks kind of nervous, but I have no idea why. I wave at him, and he waves back.

(Russia’s POV)
I see America waving, so I wave back. Even though I’m still nervous, I can’t back down now.
I walk up to him, and he flashes me that bright smile of his, making my heart skip a beat. “Hey, Sunlight.” That’s the nickname I gave him because he always wears his sunglasses.
“Hey, Ruski,” he replies with a smile. "Ruski" is what he calls me, and while I don’t know why, I think it’s cute when he says it.
“So, why’d you want to meet up at the park?” America asks.
I take a deep breath. “I need to tell you something important.”
“Well, what is it?” he asks, sounding curious.
“I like you. I’ve liked you for a long time now, and I’ve been trying to figure out how to say it without messing up our friendship.”
Before I can ramble on, America puts a hand on my mouth. “Hey, relax, Ruski.”
He pulls his hand away, and I look down, feeling a little embarrassed. “Sorry. I just didn’t want to ruin what we have. I probably sound like an idiot now, right?”
America tilts my chin up, making me look at him. “You don’t sound like an idiot, Ruski.”
“Really?” I ask, surprised.
He nods. “Actually, I’ve got something to tell you too.”
I notice him blush a little as he looks away. “What is it?” I ask.
“Well... I like you too, Ruski.”
My heart races at his words. “Really?”
He nods, and I can see that he’s blushing even more now.
Without thinking, I lean in and kiss him. After a second, I realize what I’ve done and quickly pull back. “Sorry... I didn’t mean—”
America is blushing like crazy, but he smiles. “It’s fine.”
I smile too and kiss him again, this time more passionately. America kisses me back. After a while, we pull away and just look at each other. I grin and ask, “So... we’re dating now?”
America nods, and just like that, we’re officially together.
