Amira's P.O.V
For some reason I had gotten used to waking up early. I mean it's a good practice. I liked it.But I hardly had any sleep last night, memorising the names of Aryan's guests names wasn't easy. But nonetheless I managed to do it, and tonight was the event. It was formal and many prestigious people if the society would be coming. The creme-de-la-creme will be there and I needed to look good.
After getting out of the shower I chose my outfit, and today I decided to go for a glossy red dress. It hugged me tightly but I was able to breath so it was ok I guess.
I applied some makeup and grabbed my bag to head to work. Ever since I've started working with Aryan I feel...I don't know...different. It's a feeling I've never felt before.
"Amira?", my mum dragged me out of my thoughts.
I looked at her and then shook the thoughts away. He was getting on my mind.
"Remember Shaina? Your childhood friend? She is coming back from Boston next week! Her parents told us before they left and they sounded so excited to have her back. I talked to Pooja about it, but she said there was a lot more to it...I didn't understand...", my mum continued.
Wow!! Shaina my best friend is coming back! How I've missed her! Me Rohan and Shaina were best friends! We were like brothers and sisters, oh I can't wait for her to arrive.
But what did Pooja didi mean by there was more to it? Did something happen in Boston? By the sound of what mum was saying, Shaina sounded upset and her parents just had to bring her out. Anyways I would get to see her next week, so I'll find out soon.
"Ohh, and tomorrow the Chopra's are coming over!", mum sounded so excited. They probably wanted to set me up with their son. But I wasn't ready for this stuff yet, I mean I had other plans. I wanted to be successful in my career and make my connections.
Wait. Wait. Wait.
The Chopra's? Aryan Chopra? Could this be his family?
I looked at dad, he could answer this question.
"Hay dad?", I questioned slowly.
He looked at me through his glasses and smiled."You know the Chopra's? Is their son's name Aryan?", I asked quivering.
"Yes how did you know?", my dad looked at me curiously.
I felt my stomach drop.
----------------------------------------------------
Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god.I've been chanting this for the past 15 minutes and all the passengers in the subway station probably think I'm crazy. Out of my mind. I am though now.
I am being set up with Aryan Chopra? God no. And now the 'god no' chant has started.
What am I going to do? Should I tell him? Or does he know already? For gods sake why does this have to be so hard? What if he gets so mad he kicks me out?
No he wouldn't do that. How do you know?
What am I going to do? I didn't even realise I had reached my work place. The receptionist greeted me and did as well.I turned forward to the lift but before I could get in a hand caught my wrist and pulled me out.
"What the f-", I started to say but realised I shouldn't as this is a professional environment.
It wasn't Aryan. It was another guy, who had a chocolate brown eyes as well, but taller."Hi can you please show me around? I'm trying to find aryan.", he asked roughly.
Geez was he Aryans cousin? What is it with these guys and pulling people?
I nodded and he let me go.We got into the lift so we could go to Aryan's floor.
"What's you name?", he said scrolling through his phone. So rude."Amira...and yours sir?", I asked trying not to sound irritated.
"Sameer Arya.", he answered. Suddenly he put his phone away and sighed for a long time. I took a closer look at him, he had dark circles under his eyes. Wow he must be like Aryan, too busy in work.
Bing! We finally reached Aryan's private floor and I led him through the double doors. Sameer was rolling up his sleeves for some reason and undoing some of his top buttons. It wasn't that hot was it? I knocked on his door and heard a deep husky voice said," Come in".
As we came in Aryan turned around in his chair and he looked shocked. I looked past me and saw Sameer with exactly the same reaction."ABEY TU??", Aryan shouted at the top of his voice.
"TU?", Sameer retorted.
"THU?!", Aryan fake spat at the ground.
They came closer and closer till I realised that I was in the middle of them. So I stepped away but watched with fear and curiousity as to what was going to happen next.
Aryan threw a punch at Sameer.
"SAALE KAMINE WAISE TOH LAMBORGHINI CHALA TA HAI LEKIN TERE JEB MAY EK PHOOTI KODI NAHI THI APNE DOST KO PHONE KARNE KE LIYA HAH?? BOL??! ISS TECHNOLOGY KAY ZAMABA MAY EK EMAIL NAHI SKYPE CALL NAHI FAX NAHI ARE EK LETTER BHI NAHI??! BOL KYA HOGAYA TUJHE HAAN? TUHJE PAAGALON KE TARAH DOONDTHA RAHA! MUJHE TOH LAG RAHA THA TERE PICHE UNDERCOVER AGENTS BHEJ DO-", Aryan couldn't finish what he said as Sameer punched him back in the ribs.
"AUR TUJHE KYA LAGA HAI? KI MAY WAHAN BOSTON MAY BIRYANI BECH RAHA THA MERE BAAP?", Sameer' screeched back at him. They were breaking everything and blood was saying on their shirts.
I had to stop them before they killed each other.
"Stop!!!", I came in between them.
They were breathing heavily. I myself was stressed out jut by watching them. God is this how you welcome a friend? Crazy literally both of them.
Suddenly they both started laughing and hugged each other. They hugged like long lost brothers, and while they did that I got out Aryans favourite drink and put it on the table.
"Would anyone like to tell me what happened here a few minutes ago?", I questioned after their emotional moment."Yeah Amira, this is-",Aryan started.
"Sameer, I know. But how do you guys know each other like that? You guys looked like you were going to kill each other.", I emphasised. They erupted in laughter again and explained how they knew each other from a long time before. They were like brothers, both cute.
"Achaa bro, I need your help yaar.", suddenly Sameer's tone became serious and I turned away as it is rude to intrude.
"Ya bol! Kya chahiye?", Aryan questioned with a hand on his shoulder.
"Meri jaan."
