Link looked at Ghirahim, his eyes wide and his mind running through a million thoughts per second. What is he doing here? Didn't he die? What is he doing alive? What is wrong with him? Link looked again at Ghirahim before sighing and picking up the skinny man in a bridal style with a little effort, due to the fighting. Link didn't really look at Ghirahim while walking him up the path, taking a little longer since he had to walk all the way back up the cliff, using the ridges to guide him back up to the path. Using the last of his energy, he sprinted past all of the creatures in his way, making his way back to his home with Ghirahim in his arms.
Link entered his home breathing with difficulty as he gently placed Ghirahim on the wooden bench while catching his breath. Link let his shield and his bloody sword collapse to the ground, before once again picking up his new guest and ascending the spiral staircase, this time going passed his forging room and into his own room, laying Ghirahim on the soft bed in the corner of the room. The window was shaded with a dark curtain and there was a small bedside table that held a colorless unlit candle. There was a dresser on the other side of the room and a wooden closet next to it, a desk was positioned to the right of the window with a small stool in front of it. Link grabbed the stool and moved it over next to the bed, sitting on the stool he looked at the man in front of him before getting up and walking out of the room and into the restroom, where he took off his clothes, washed off with a rag, and then put on a fresh pair of clothes.
Link checked on his 'guest', noting that he was still asleep he went downstairs, through the entrance and walked to the village, mentally telling himself that Ghirahim couldn't take anything because there really wasn't anything to take and if the man left it would be easier for him anyway since they were enemies before and all. Guilt pained his heart, the idea of having that man leave in such critical condition tore him apart inside. He didn't know what he wanted really, he knew that this man had once tried to kill him, but there was another side of Ghirahim that Link remembered, a side that most would take as evil or senseless, but Ghirahim had told Link straight out that he wouldn't kill him, that he may wound him, but not kill him.
Link's mind went back to what Ghirahim had said once before, "Come to me Link. You and I , we're bound by that thread of fate. Destined to fight." But what happens when there is no reason to fight? Link thought dully to himself as he neared the city walls, he quickly climbed the wall and dropped into the city with ease. Zelda was no where in sight, just as Link had thought. Link walked through the town, getting some friendly smiles and others seemed to look right passed him, as if they barely recognized him. He went into the small tavern, purchasing medicine, rags, and more food. Preparing just in case the man did steal things when he got back. Quickly, Link turned and left, his mind completely far away when he bumped into Zelda, her bright blue eyes looking right into his.
"Link! It has been quite awhile." Zelda said thoughtfully, with a hint of sadness toned into her voice. Link nodded with a friendly smile. However his thoughts weren't on the Goddess at this point, he was more worrying about the strange man he had lying hurt in his bed at the moment. "How have you been?" Zelda asked, noticing that Link seemed distant. Link shrugged and held up the few bags he had. " Went shopping huh? Alright, well, then, I'll let you get home, I have things to do as well anyway. See you later Link." Zelda wrapped her arms around Link and smiled brightly, then returned to her Loftwing, mounting it, and flying back to Skyloft to continue her duties.
Link sighed again and with a small twinge of pain in his heart, he turned and began once again to his house. Once there, he placed the items away in their rightful spots, the food was placed in cabinets in the kitchen, which consisted of a kettle of water and a few tables as well as cabinets and a dining table in the middle of the kitchen. There were plates and silverware in certain cabinets as most people did, however there was very few since Link was the only one who lived there. After this was done, he went upstairs and checked once again on his guest, who was sleeping soundly. It had been quite some time, or it had felt like it had, Link thought to himself as he watched Ghirahim breathe lightly.
Something told Link that this was going to be some strange couple of days.
