Taehyung had an early start to his day, waking up before the sun had fully risen. He spent the morning buried in work, flipping through files, making notes, and preparing for his day ahead. By the time he left for work, the house was still quiet.

Meanwhile, YN slowly woke up, stretching as she glanced at the empty side of the bed. Taehyung was already gone. With a sigh, she freshened up and made her way downstairs, expecting to prepare her own breakfast.

But as she entered the kitchen, she froze.

On the dining table, a plate of perfectly arranged breakfast awaited her, accompanied by a single rose and a neatly folded note. Her fingers trembled slightly as she picked it up and read his words:

“Good morning, princess.
I’m sorry I had to leave early today, and I’ll be late tonight too. Don’t wait for me—just have your dinner. If you need anything, call me. Love you so much.
~Your Tae”

A soft smile spread across her lips as she traced the words. Her heart felt a little warmer, a little fuller. Holding onto the note, she sat down and ate her breakfast, feeling his presence even in his absence.

The day passed quietly, and by evening, exhaustion took over. YN drifted into sleep, curled up comfortably. But the peaceful silence was soon shattered by a sharp knock on the door.

Her brows furrowed. Taehyung said he’d be late. Who could it be? Hesitantly, she walked up to the door and opened it slightly—only to freeze.

A strange man stood there, his presence unsettling. Her heartbeat quickened. Something felt wrong.

“S-sorry, who are you?” she stammered, gripping the edge of the door.

The man gave a slow smirk. “I’m here to see your husband.”

“He’s not home. You should leave,” she said, attempting to close the door, but his hand shot out, gripping the wood firmly.

Her breath hitched.

“What if I don’t want to leave?”

Fear coiled inside her chest. “G-get out!” she tried again, stepping back, but in an instant, he grabbed her wrist and pushed his way inside.

Her mind raced. She struggled, but he was stronger. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a vase on the table. Without hesitation, she snatched it and smashed it against his head.

The man groaned, momentarily stunned, giving her just enough time to sprint toward the kitchen. She slid under the table, her shaky fingers dialing Taehyung’s number.

He picked up instantly.

“Princess?” His deep voice was soothing, but she could barely form words.

“H-hello… T-taehyung…” her voice trembled.

He immediately sensed something was wrong. “What happened? Talk to me.”

“There’s… s-someone here,” she whispered.

His tone darkened. “Who? Who’s there?”
