Spoiler Alert: Part of this chapter contains a scene based off of the Five Nights at Freddy's Movie. I don't own the characters in this scene.
Ryder woke up the next morning and stretched his arms. He slowly got out of bed and looked at his pups sleeping peacefully. He walked to the window and looked outside, checking out the parking lot below and the buildings that stood before the hotel. He took a breath before going to the end of the bed. He noticed the newspaper with the same animatronic Fazbear lying on the floor beside the bed and remembered his interview was later that day.
"I hope this is worth it," he said to himself.
He left his room and headed for the elevator. He pressed the button that took him to the bottom floor. He stepped out of the elevator once the doors opened.
'Mocha sounds good,' he thought.
Ryder approached the front desk and asked where the nearest cafe was.
"There's one not far from here," the woman working the desk told the ten-year-old.
"Thank you."
Ryder walked out the front door and left the building. He had a keycard on him for getting back into the building. Ryder wasn't usually a coffee drinker, but did like mocha. The cafe was walking distance so Ryder had nothing to worry about.
He was hoping the mocha would relax his mind about the job interview. Ryder walked in, ordered his mocha, paid for it, and then walked out with his cup of mocha in hand. He returned to the hotel building, hoping one of his pups would be awake at this time. He entered his hotel room to find Chase staring at the newspaper on the floor.
The German Shepherd turned his head toward his owner. "Morning, Ryder, sir."
Ryder patted the German Shepherd's head. "Morning, Chase."
Ryder sat at the desk that the hotel room included and took a sip of his mocha. Chase eyed the drink in his owner's hand.
"Should you be drinking that?" Chase asked.
"I don't have it all the time, so I guess it's okay," he responded, taking another sip.
The smell of Ryder's mocha woke up Rubble, then Marshall, and then the rest. They had forgotten Ryder's job interview until they saw the newspaper lying on the ground, beside the bed. Ryder and the pups had some fun going out to have fun to relax them before Ryder went to go to his job interview.
Once 4:00 rolled around, the pups were tired out and spent the rest of the day in the hotel room. That was until Ryder walked in and told them he was leaving to go to the job interview. The pups instantly lifted their heads up and gasped. They had forgotten all about the interview. His pups wished their owner good luck before he walked out the door.
He took a cab to the employment office. He exited the cab, tipped the driver, and was dropped off the the entrance of the office. He entered the building and looked for the front desk. Once he found it, he signed in, took a seat, and waited patiently and nervously.
"Number 27," a lady called.
Ryder lifted his head up and got up from his seat. Ryder then entered an office that would help him get the job as the security guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. The man he was seeing was Steve Raglin, a career counselor. Steve was a middle aged man who had white skin, taupe hair, blue eyes, and a Van Dyke beard who wore golden vintage aviator eyeglasses and a yellow long-sleeved dress shirt with blue stripes.
"Hello, I'm Mr. Raglin, or you can call me Steve, whatever you prefer."
"I'm Ryder."
"Nice to meet you, Ryder. Why are you here?"
