"Senna! Are you coming?" Liam called out to the Dutch woman who turned around and smiled at his presence.
"Not today! I have to fly back to Amsterdam for training." She frowned at the idea of flying straight back after this weekend. China had been fun, and with Red Bull pulling first and third, the team was headed out for a party. One which the reserve driver could not attend.
Liam and Senna became great friends afterhe joined the Red Bull reserve two years ago. Senna had been with their reseve team for almost four years now, joining them immediatley after her second F2 chamionship. She probably could've gotten signed as a real driver for a lower team, but her father didn't want her to.
He wanted her to have clout behind her name. But not only did he want her to be known simply as a reserve driver; no, that was unacceptable. So the nineteen year old was also a defender on the Ajax Vrouwen.
She spent most of her days at home in Amsterdam, training with the football team. But there was the occasional weekend where she was called up to the races. It truly tired her out, and she was far more than burnt out of the two sports, but she couldn't stop. It would be incredibly unacceptable if she did.
"I thought you were out of games this month?" Liam cluelessly asked. He clearly didn't know much about the intensity of football. The intensity that was slowly killing the teen.
"Mate, there is a lot more to football than the games. I see you for Miami though, yes?" She asked her colleague but he seemed a bit surprised.
"You're not coming to RBR during the break?" Liam asked and Senna only shrugged.
"Not much time. Ouder wants me back for more training, since I have gotten behind in football." She admitted, carefully repeating her father's words, which she had been taught to believe.
"I thought he wanted you to be a driver too?" Liam frowned. He knew all about Denzel. Denzel may have been nice upon first glance, but when you started to hear about what his family had been told to do, you learned how bad of a person he was.
"Yes, he does. But my football has been deteriorating, and I need to fix it." Senna shrugged and squirted her water bottle into her mouth. The two were about to head back to the team hotel, from where Senna was to pack and leave within two hours.
"Just take a break yeah? Before Miami?" Liam patted her on the back lightly.
"Do not worry about me. I will be fine." Senna sent him a smile and they headed out to the car park together. They had decided to drive to the race today together, as they typically did. Even though they were competitors, they were great friends.
"Are you going to see Sherida while you're there?" Liam asked. Senna had grown close to the woman, playing for both Ajax and the national team. His New Zealand accent caused him to mispronounce the Dutch name. That was what was funny about him, he was a total New Zealander and it was so obvious.
"No, she is on maternity leave. But Danique, Isa, and Regina are all there." She smiled at the names of her teammates. The four were great friends in the football world, and always would stay with one another at hotels. It helped that they were all close in age too.
"Good. Just don't spend too much time there." Liam warned. He had grown to detest her father, only meeting him on a few previous occasions. It didn't help that Denzel was a bit of a shit show himself.
