I Now Understand My Self-Worth

I was there in your struggle. I was there in your pain. I was there to comfort you. I was the one who invested in your idea's.

But where were you when I needed you? That is my question to you. She was your Sun.

If she was your Sun then should I be the moon then? No matter how hard the moon tries it shall never outshine the sun.

You call me in your trouble and you call her when it's over. You cherished her. Yet, you never spared me a glance.

Yet you say you love me. Now you say I'm paranoid. I now understand my self-worth. I am no longer standing at that door smiling and waiting patiently for you.

I say my goodbyes. You never spared me a glance. Yet you look surprised and scared. I am now free of your troubles.

I never thought leaving would make my heart so light my pain has lifted. I cannot blame you for my stupidity for it was I who stayed with you. You come to me asking for me expecting me to run to you arms open I'm no longer yours. I now understand my worth.
