Gravity and Magnets

The class finally came to an end. I gathered my stuff and got up from my desk, lost in thought. I felt someone tap my shoulder gently which got my attention.

It was Mr. Kaulitz. "Hey... Ana, right?" He spoke gently, gazing into my eyes. "I just wanted to say that if you ever need help with something dear, im here." his words were like a caress, his hand still resting on my shoulder.

I stared at him for a moment, my cheeks flushing slightly at the unexpected contact. "T-Thank you Sir." i murmured nerveously which made him chuckle before letting go of me.

"You should probably head to your next class, you don't want to be late." He teased me slightly. "You're right Sir." i nodded tightly before walking out of the class awkwardly.

As i opened my locker to grab books for the next class, i felt someones presence behind me. "So how was your first class?" Hazel asked me with a bright smile on her face.

I smiled back, closing my locker. "Nothing special, just learning." i shrugged.

She giggled, grabbing me by my shoulders. It seemed like people loved doing that. "Well it won't be boring next period, we have it together!" Hazel exclaimed excitedly.

I was relieved that we had the next class together, maybe it won't be as awkward. We both made our way towards the Physics classroom, as we entered in, anxiety started rising inside me, hoping that no one will say anything about me. I turned around towards Hazel, but... she wasn't there? 

I looked around the classroom until i spotted her talking to a girl. I approached them awkwardly. "Hey..." i murmured to the girl that was giving me a dirty look now, or maybe her face looked like that naturally. "Hi..." She said, looking me up and down as if scanning me.

"Oh, Syd i forgot to tell you, this is Ana, shes new here." Hazel suddenly jumped into the conversation which made it a bit less awkward. "Shes from Europe!" Hazel added.

"Oh, well, nice to meet you Ana." Syd said, her face expression brightening. "Nice to meet you too." I said back with a smile, still somewhat awkward.

Before the conversation could go any further, the teacher walked in and everyone sat at their desks. "Settle down class." She said even though no one was talking.

"Thats Mrs. Darol, shes a bit short on nerves." Syd whispered to me. She was seated behind me and Hazel was infront of me. "Yeah, i can see that." i chuckled, trying to bond with Syd. She chuckled back before Mrs. Darol called out my name.

"Ana... Jancovic...?" She struggled to read out my last name. "I-Its Jankovic Miss." I said, raising my hand which made the whole class turn towards me.

"Oh... Alright... Jancovic." She pronounced it wrong again, but i gave up at correcting her. "Alright class we have a new student here. Her name is Ana as you've heard, please make her feel welcomed." Mrs. Darol continued and i smiled awkwardly as evveryone stared at me, some of them saying hi while others turned back to their desks.

Mrs. Darol was teaching us about something that had to do with gravity and magnets, but my mind was somewhere else. I was thinking about Mr. Kaulitz and the encounter we had earlier.

"What are you smiling about?" Hazel was looking at me with an raised eyebrow and i quickly snapped out of my thoughts. "N-Nothing, just excited that i moved here." i lied, but Hazel seemed to buy it.

"Well, i hope you like it here." She smiled before turning back to the teacher. I sgihed softly before my eyes widened. I was smiling thinking about my teacher? i thought to myself, swallowing the lump in my throat.
