Title:
The title 'Could I Stay Over: Our Perfectly Imperfect Love' is simplistic and mirrors what the story has to majorly offer. The title makes sense once you reach Chapter 8 or Chapter 9 and then it strikes you.
However, I would like the author's perspective on whether the title should be 'Could I Stay Over?' or 'Can I Stay Over?'Cover:
The cover is beautiful, it showcases the characters well in terms of their personality and them being high school students in this story. I feel that the designer has done a fabulous job with it. Shout out to the amazing designer Pastelskies15
Blurb:
The blurb aptly conveys what the book has to offer you, the author doesn't minces words when they state that it is for fans of enemies to lovers trope, and a clumsy girl and perfection personified male lead. If you are a fan of this genre then the blurbs would make you explore this story further.
Graphics:
Every chapter has relevant pictures as a banner, that suits the story/chapter well. The author has included AI generated images of the characters, which I have come across for the first time and I found it really intriguing, it is a new touch to story writing, I feel.
However, I have a complain to the author, you included the whole bunch here, then why leave out our Seokjinie!
Plot:
💜💜💜💜💜(5/7)
The plot is ever so popular k-drama setting of 'opposite attracts' and 'hatred to love story'. Thus the categorization of the story as a rom-com is also justified. It is a high school love story and I feel that it will resonate well with the young and teen readers.
Main Characters:
💜💜💜💜 💜 (5/7)
Lindsay as the female lead is a character that many young readers would connect with, it is however a character that typically belongs in fictions and drama and seldom encountered in reality.
Lindsay is smart, kind, sweet and has her own fair share of problems in life, the top most one being clumsy, I mean the superlative degree of clumsy. Kim Namjoon (the real life one) is no match to this girl in being clumsy.
The male lead is the 148 IQ boy, Kim Namjoon who has a stark opposite personality to Lindsay. You would find yourself being charmed, annoyed and also impressed at times by this version of his in this alternate universe setting.
Both the characters, though set in a typical high school setting, don't across as highly superficial. You feel a connection with them. However, though you feel that spectrum of personality traits in the character of Namjoon, but I can not say so of Lindsay's character. She has to have some shades of greys as well, that's what I feel is lacking, till the Chapter 15, at least.
On a lighter note, there are certain episodes on which I would like the author's perspective, such as: how come these high school teenagers have a whole luxurious house for themselves? I was also stupefied when Namjoon picks her up in an SUV, which he was driving. Are high-schoolers permitted to drive?
Sometimes it feels that the things are unfolding rather too easily, but then like I mentioned this is a typical teen-story, so kind of already know what you're into.
Side Characters/ Second Lead:
Laila as Lindsay's best friend occurs to me as the second lead in the story, she has everything to offer that can be expected of your high school best friend. They seem to meet only in the school (till Chapter 15) and in Chapter 8, I felt a bit disappointed in her and you might also feel that, however, I am also aware that this was a crucial turn for the story to progress. But Laila! Girl, I expected better from you!
