Piano, violin, and laughter filled the palace.
The ball was full of queens and princesses from nearby kingdoms, each wearing their most elegant gowns.
Their attire glowed with the finest fabrics, rich embroidery, and sparkling jewels, making each one the embodiment of beauty and glamour. The guests were all stunning in their own right, but it was clear that my ball would be the grandest and most fashionable event of the evening.
I walked downstairs step by step, as the announcer's announcement of my arrival was heard throughout the grand hall.
The moment I descended, all eyes were on me as guests looked over me with curiosity and admiration.
I continued my descent, holding my head high and my back straight, as everyone took in my presence and magnificent ensemble.
once I reached the floor. "Your kind attendance shows your compassion and grace, which are worthy of the highest praise. Your presence at this ball enriches the event with your wisdom and beauty and brings joy to my heart." I spoke with conviction as my eyes travelled around the gathered queens and princesses. "May the night bring you only joy and happiness."
With that, they started clapping, and the soft instruments began playing.
The atmosphere was alive with conversation and music, making the ball feel even more lively and enjoyable. I felt a sense of relief as I noticed that all the guests had arrived and that the ball was officially under way.
"My dear daughter, such a splendid ball," my mother said as I approached her. She was already talking to one of the invited ladies, and her smile brightened as she saw me. "Mother," I replied with a smile as I neared her and took her hands in mine. "I shall thank you for coming," bowing my head just slightly in gratitude. "Of course I would come!" she responded with a joyful tune.
There was not much to say about her attire except being simply breathtaking.
"Where is Sophie?" I asked as I noticed her absence. I was curious as to where she could have gone, as she was always by my side at social events like this one.
"Sadly, she was too tired to come," my mother replied with a gentle smile. "How is father?" the concern in my voice matching the expression on my face.
"He is well," she said with a reassuring smile. The information brought about a sigh of relief on my part.
"How is your husband?" She asked, "I hope things went well." She continued, The last time we spoke about my husband was when we had a misunderstanding.
Which is now fixed.
"Perfectly well," I assured her with a gentle pat on her hand. The fact that my husband and I had managed to resolve our misunderstanding was a comfort to her.
"I am glad." The look in her eyes spoke volumes about how happy she was.
Our chat was cut short as Queen Christina and her daughter, Princess Jane, made their way to us. I immediately noticed the pair of royal ladies arriving, my eyes travelling over their stunning attire and flawless features.
"Your majesty, princess," I curtsied politely, despite the trouble that Princess Jane had caused. I was willing to put aside my personal feelings and extend an invitation to her, as it was my duty to do so and maintain civility.
Furthermore, I was prepared to have a respectful conversation with her regarding her behaviour.
They bowed in response, also expressing their gratitude for the invitation. "I deeply thank you for the invitation; it is splendid," Queen Christina stated thoughtfully, her gentle words carrying respect and gratitude. My gaze shifted to Princess Jane, and I noticed the look on her face—one that seemed to convey a degree of shame.
