If the cold air didn't tell you it was winter, the tremendous amount of snow on the ground definitely did. I've found snow hidden in places you don't want to find snow hidden.

"why do they have to travel in packs?" I hear Harry say to Ron in front of me, "How are you suppose to get one on their own to ask them" he questions.

They approached a group of ravenclaw girls and received filthy stares in return.

"Blimey, Harry. You've slayed dragons. If you can't get a date, who can?" Ron whispered as they back up.

"The dragon seems like a good option." Harry sighed

I made my way into the middle of them and mocked, "I believe you're missing something." This stopped them in their tracks. "No need to rub it in, Lottie; what does it look like we're doing?" Ron snapped, misinterpreting me.

I crossed my arms. "In third year, there was a rumour going around that I was snogging Adrian Pucey in the broom cupboards. "Who became popular with the female audience?" I raised an eyebrow. "And another rumour went around that Theodore Nott took my virginity in second year, who then got all the girls' attention."

They both smiled, looking at each other, "work your magic" Harry pushed me by my shoulders to a corner where some Gryffindor girls sat.

"Am I the only one who noticed," I pumped my jumper up and down on my chest, "Harry and Ron got kind of hot over the summer?" I faced them.

They all exchanged glances and looked over at the two boys in the corner, attempting to be photogenic. "I never noticed it before," Parvati said, surprised that she had thought so, turning to her sister.

"Right," I stretched the 't' sound while fidgeting with my necklace, "shame they'll probably have dates to the dance." I bowed my head, pretending to be disappointed. "Oh well." I dashed away.

While I was walking inside, I brushed past the two boys and murmured, "You owe me. Big time."

When I cut the next corner, I was met with Hermione, she looked behind me and when she saw Ron and Harry she grunted, "You okay?" I asked.

She grabbed my hand and pulled me away, "I am done with them. They have gone too far this time." she whined.

"Who? Harry and Ron?" I asked. "Last period they were complaining about not getting a date to the ball." she paused. "And you will never guess what they said" she shook her head in retaliation of getting angry.

"I said it would be fine for them to not go with anyone, so they assumed I had nobody to go with and after I declined going with either of them they said it would be sad for a girl to go alone so I should fix my hair and go searching. " she huffed.

"what type of patriarchal crap is that." I scoffed.

Neither of them deserved my help on getting a date, they didn't even care with who they went with. They would've gone with anyone, even though the yule ball is suppose to be a meaningful night to spend time with those you care about.

"I wish you told me five seconds ago, I just got them a whole group of girls over the moon for them" I complained.

We both looked outside to see them crowded, "all Gryffindor girls. they'll be easy to crack." I smile, "so brave to the point of recklessness."

Hermione laughs for a second and then shoves my shoulder.

"but who will they say yes to" Hermione asks, as we look at the girls surrounding Harry and Ron.

Individually, I take a look at them all, "those two have boyfriends, she's in an arranged marriage , she's not interested in either of them and she is a closeted lesbian that has to act interested. That leaves the Patil sisters" I spit out, taking a deep breath.
