Atria Black hated her time in Hogwarts already and it had been less than twenty-four hours. She wanted to crawl back into her mum's arms and let her read to her. She had never despised her last name; her mum always told her to walk with her head high and ignore the haters, but she couldn't.

Emerson glared at her nails as she watched her daughter develop a hatred for her family. A stinging sense enveloped her heart, Atria would never know her mums' side of the family and more than half of her dad's side of the family was dead or in prison.

"Oh, I will kill everyone who talks ill of her." She spoke darkly as she gave a warning to everyone in the hall, they better control their kids whilst Sirius looked at her with pride.

As the girl sat at the Slytherin table, she picked at her breakfast, a frown on her face as she watched her classmates talk to each other and have fun. Her eyes darted to the Gryffindor table where Amary seemed to be talking with Ron Weasley and a few other boys, one of which was muttering some spell as he waved his wand at his goblet.

She looked at the Hufflepuff table where Susie and Isaac seemed to be having the time of their life with Vivian and an older boy. Rolling her eyes, she looked at the Ravenclaw table and even Emery seemed to have found friends.

Glaring at the hashbrowns, she stabbed them with her fork, her mood having dipped. She looked to her side, a blonde girl sitting next to her, she didn't remember her name, but Atria reckoned she was a pureblood princess because she looked to put together.

"What did the poor hash browns do to her?" Avalon pouted and whined as she looked dreamily at the hash browns. Was this some pregnancy craving? She didn't know but that darn hashbrown looked extremely appetizing.

She would also probably make fun of her, like her other roommates. As she subtly studied the blonde, she watched as the girl glared at one of her roommates, Pansy Parkinson.

"Who does she think she is? Mother was right, all these people are stuck up bitches."

Atria coughed, covering up her chuckle but the blonde had heard her. The girl raised a brow at Atria and the curly haired girl could feel her ears turn red.

"Daphne Greengrass." she introduced, holding out her hand which Atria shook. The weight that had settled on Atria's shoulders dissipated as she smiled at Daphne.

"Atria Black."

"Are you really? Your mother is Emerson Lancaster?" Atria was surprised Daphne knew her mother, but she still nodded, and Daphne squealed. Taken aback by her sudden change in mood, Atria smiled nervously.
