Chap. 2

Kai Madden : 

Today was the day we would be meeting our new pr/media intern and our new teammate at 3, it was currently 1 and I was out with a few boys from the team . I was excited, the last intern was good but she focused more on " getting " to know everyone. I never was interested in that, I have respect for women plus I try to keep the professionalism on 100. " Hey Dom did um Juniper tell you what team she would be interning for ". " No she said it was a surprise and not to worry my ugly little head  why ? " " Just wondering " " Good last I heard she was hoping for the Cardinals rumor has it she has a boo on that team. " With that he turns and finishes talking to my teammate Jax.

Later me and my teammates are joking around in the conference room waiting on our new teammate and the intern. When our coach walks in we all stand up and wait for the okay to sit down. " Sit you heathens I can hear your dumb asses cracking jokes out there " Our coach is an African-American woman who's is her late 30's shes only 5'4 but has the balls of John Cena. She paved the way for herself and has the respect of multiple coaches and teams around the league. 

Walking behind her is Ezra Walker, the St. Louis Cardinals pitcher or old pitcher because I guess this is the transfer teammate, and holding hands him is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, the lovely Juniper Ambrose. " Boys this is Ezra Walker our newest pitcher and our new intern, Juniper Amrbose ". Ezra goes around the table introducing himself once he's done Juniper goes around the table introducing herself. All I can think about how much I fucked up all those years ago and how much I would do anything to take those words back.  

She has blonde french curl braids in, the dress that she has on falls over on the front its a cream color and looks warm going with the chilly weather and fuckkk she smells like coconut and vanilla. Her body looks amazing I look down to see she has on cream flats. " Kai you dickwad shes trying to introduce herself " I hear my teammate Jax yell at me his Spanish accent making the words sound fast. I look up to see Juniper in front of me with her hand out .

It would be weird to hug her right ? Yea right it'd be weird, you lost that right and she might not want you hugging her. So I settle for, " Kai Ambrose, it's a pleasure to see you again." " Wait you two know each other " My teammate Leo pipes up, " she's my sister you dimwit " Dominic says his voice twinging with annoyance. " I thought you guys looked alike but I didn't want to be the racist guy who thinks all black people look alike ". Juniper laughs from her seat which is right in front of me and damn how much I've missed her laugh. 

" Okay boys listen up, seeing as Ezra is a new member treat him with respect or else you're all doing laps around the entire field ". " And treat Juniper with respect none of that flirting, inappropriate jokes or any of the sort, or else I'll let Dominic and Ezra handle you ". Ezra my mind flashes back to my convo with Dom earlier and the holding hands. Of course he's with her she's a catch. 

" Also listen to her advice I don't need you guys making me look bad on social media, you guys are my children you guys reflect me " " Are there any other questions or comments ? "  That's when I realize I zoned out through most of the meeting. " If not you're dismissed ". " Be here tomorrow at 6:45 sharp training starts tomorrow baby boys ".

Juniper Ambrose : 

All throughout the meeting I could feel Kai staring at me god what is his problem. " June can we talk ". Great just the man I want to see, " sure ". He leads me over to a bench, " I just wanted to say I don't want things to be awkward I'm glad you've moved on" Who the fuck does he think he is, telling me hes glad I've moved on like boy get the hell out my face . " Kai we fell out 7 years ago not 7 days ago, I appreciate your concern about awkwardness but no need to feel that way ". " If you'll excuse me I have to go ".
