Ada stood at the threshold of the cafe, the soft hum of conversation and clinking cups fading into a background blur. Her fingers clutched the strap of her purse, her heart racing with a mixture of apprehension and determination. Vidyut's past was a chapter she had never fully explored. He had shared pieces with her—his mistakes, his regrets—but some things, he never spoke about.

She was hurt but was determined to love him. For the first time, she has fallen in love, and this is not how it ends. She will reshape it; she will make him believe in love again.

"Ada. How brave of you to show up. I was beginning to think the great Vidyut Agarwal had finally chained you to the wall."

Ada ignored the chair and the insult, standing tall. "If you have information regarding Vijay Sharma or the attacks, give it to me. If not, I'm leaving."

Shanaya chuckled—a soft, almost amused, purring sound that managed to be condescending and intimate all at once. She picked up a slim silver spoon and idly stirred the untouched coffee in the delicate china cup.

"Information? Oh, nothing so crude. What do I want? Oh, nothing much. Just to tell you the truth. The things Vidyut never told you."

Ada's internal defenses, built of months of trauma and survival, went numb for a moment. Truth. That single word struck her with the force of a blow, not because she believed Shanaya was a purveyor of honesty, but because it targeted the raw, exposed nerve of her relationship with Vidyut—the parts he still kept locked away, the parts he refused to discuss after the shooting. She knew about the cheating, the manipulation, and the violent confrontation with Siya. She knew Shanaya was a liar. Yet, a sliver of genuine, icy fear pierced her resolve: What if there was a truth, a fundamental weakness that only his ex-understood?

The raw, feminine urge to slap the smugness right off the woman who had hurt her man, who had poisoned his past, surged through Ada. But she suppressed the anger, forcing her fluttering heart to beat a steady rhythm of cold, hard logic. Shanaya wasn't here to offer an olive branch or a warning. She was here to tear Ada down, using Vidyut's vulnerabilities as her weapon.
