Chapter 2: Please don't let go.
Niall's Pov:
'Yes'. One simple word, a thousand feelings. I can't believe we made her do this to herself. We're horrible people. I’m horrible. I kissed her arm again and looked at her. She has such beautiful eyes. That deep green make you lose yourself in them. But just before I could totally lose myself she spoke.
'I should go'. No. She can't. Her lips are a sweet pink that make you kiss them every day.
'No, please stay'. She looked at me and I swear I saw her eyes twitch. She gave me a sweet smile but it disappeared within a second.
'I can’t’. Lex got up and walked to the door and opened it. She looked one more time and whispered.
'I'm sorry'. Just as she said that, she disappeared. What? For what was she sorry? She hasn't done anything wrong. Think Niall, think! Bang! It hit me like a rock. She was going to kill herself. I have to find her and help her before it's too late. I ran out of the class and rushed to the girl’s bathroom.
'Lex?!' I yelled while checking the cabins. She's not here. I panicked and checked all the classrooms. Nothing. It was like we were playing hide and seek with a time bomb. And I was losing. Just as I went out of the last class room I saw her walk to the woods. I had to run to get there and my last meal didn't really help, but I won't give up. I rushed out of the door into the woods and yelled again. Nothing. Dead silence. It was kind of creepy but nothing can scare me right now. I have to find her fast. I heard cries come from the back of the woods. Lex! There's still a chance to find her. Okay Ni, don't waste time over thinking things, go! I rushed there and found her lying there lifeless.
What? If she's here lying lifeless, who was crying? I don't have time to think about that right now. I checked her wrist and happiness rushed through my body sending my heart on a fucking race. She's alive. She probably trapped over something and passed out. I picked her up and carried her to the nurse. After a good 30 minutes the nurse told me she had to rest and I should get her home. I didn't think twice and picked her up again and carried her to my car. It wasn't expensive but it was still a car. Placing her down carefully, I walked to the driver seat and took off. In 10 minutes I was in front of my house. I know if it was a ten minutes’ drive, why take the car to school. Well I mostly speed off because there's not much traffic at this hour. Normally it would take a good 20 minutes. I placed her in my bed and pulled the covers over her.
After kissing her forehead I went down and started preparing some food for the both of us. I decided to make some spaghetti. It was the only dish I could cook properly without burning down the house. After that I sat down on the couch and watched some stupid show called 'Family guy'. Seriously who makes these movies? After a while the pasta was done and placed on the table with two plates and two glasses for water. I walked up stairs and went to my room to wake her up so that we could go and eat. Softly I shook her and started whispering in her ear
'Lex, wake up love'. She groaned and turned over yawning and opened her eyes slowly.
'Where am I? And what are you doing here?' I chuckled and helped her sit up, I looked at her wrist and saw that there are no new cuts or so whatever. Sighing I looked at her and gave her a little smile.
'I think you fell down and passed out, well you were passed out when I found you. Now you're at my house and we are going to eat. Do you like pasta?' She smiled and walked to the door.
'Love it.' She extended her hand for me to take it and guide her to the kitchen where we could finally eat.
'Niall?' I looked at her and smiled, god she is beautiful.
'Um yes?' She smiled and embraced me into a tight hug.
'Why did you come after me?' She whispered softly into my ear still hugging me. I picked her up bridal style and walked to the kitchen.
'Because.' I placed her on her own feet and took the chair out so she could seat down.
'You deserve to be happy and I’m sorry that I didn't do something sooner' She sighed and looked down playing with her hands.
'Thank you for coming after me but I do deserve it. I deserve all that has happened. Even my mom thinks so'. Hearing her say that was like someone stabbing you and twisting the blade in you. No one deserved to think that. Not even the worst people.
‘I don't think so. I think you're beautiful and smart and everything a girl should be'. She shook her head and looked at me with teary eyes. No, did I say something wrong? God, I’m stupid.
'Stop lying'. I looked at her and shook my head.
'I'm not lying'. I took her head in my hands and kissed her forehead.
'Shall we eat now?' She looked down at her plate and nodded. After a while I was done with my plate of pasta but Lex wasn't even halfway through.
'Do you like it?' She nodded and looked at me
'I can't eat. I’m sorry' She said and placed her fork down on the plate.
'But you have to, you’re too skinny for your own good'. She let out a sarcastic laugh and looked at me.
'I'm far from skinny'. She sat up and ran upstairs, to the bathroom I guess. I sighed and went to the TV and sat down looking through the channels. Again nothing to see. After 10 minutes Lex still hasn't come down from the bathroom so I sat up and went to see what she was doing. I walked up and opened the door to find her lying on the floor with a pool of blood around her.
'No!' I screamed and kneeled next to her.
'Lex! Wake up!' I started shaking her and yelling on the top of my lungs. Niall, you have to take her to the hospital! The sane part of me reminded me. I picked her up and ran to my car and speed off to the hospital. In five minutes I was already at the hospital's doors. I pushed them open and yelled for a doctor, almost immediately someone came and took her from my hands and rushed to the emergency room. A nurse came and started asking me question about Lex and what happened. I told her I was with her so she didn't have to call her family and what happened at my house. She nodded and went into the same room as the doctor and Lex went. After a good 15 minutes the doctor came out, I rushed to him and grabbed his hand to stop him.
'Doctor, how is she?' he looked at me and then at the files he had in his hand.
'Who? The girl with the cuts on her hands?' I nodded and let go of his hand.
'Well she's stabile now but-' My eyes widen and I yelled at him
'But what?!' He looked at me with pity in his eyes.
'Please don't yell and she is in a coma.' No. I felt like the world fell on me.
'She can't be...No...No! She can't be in a coma!' I wished half to myself and half for him to hear.
'Can I... go and see her?' He nodded and looked once again at the files.
'Yes, but don't try to wake her up. Her body will wake up slowly from its self' I nodded and ran to the room he came out from. There she was. The girl that looked so beautiful was now pale and dressed in a white hospital dress. Her pink lips were now almost white and her beautiful green eyes were closed.
