Milani's Pov
When I first met doctor Cullen and shook his hand as he welcomed me to this intern. I found it hard to believe that he was a father of five children and a grandparent as well.It was hard not to stare at him because he was handsome and looked so young. But that my eyes looked for the aging on him. I was only one of the few interns he had. I would shadow his work, hoping one day to be a doctor as well.
I didn't believe the rumors at first about the family of paled eyes beauties with golden eyes like the sun. I just thought it was how Forks was.
I had graduated top in my class two years ago and was deciding my fate of the future. If to follow in the paths of my family or moving away one day. I often thought it was a figure of speech the way the whole town knew of this family. No one had anything better to do.
The florescent lights created a dull ache against my skull spinning around a couple times going over some notes. I pressed the end of the ball.pen point to my lip slightly chewing on it.for.comfort hearing Dr. Cullen's office door opening.
"Carlisle I need to talk to you."
"He's down In the emergency room can I help you instead?" I lifted my head away from the notepad getting lost in the attraction of the man standing there in the door entrance.
I was met with tossled chocolate locks, pale skin and golden eyes. I dropped silent for a moment. It was almost like I was lost in the way he was looking me up and down slowly. His eyes fluttering a couple times.
"I'm sorry for just barging in he's usually here at this time. My apologies who are you?" I faintly smiled around the pen. I stood up carefully walking towards him. I held out my hand for him.
"No apologies needed, I'm Milani one of the few interns and you?" He lifted his hand taking a hold of my hand shaking at it firmly. Ice cold like Carlisle.
"I'm Edward Cullen, I'm one of Carlisle's sons." I wanted to lift an eyebrow. If he is one of them how come he looks so young? A visual grin could be seen growing across his lips suddenly, all while he was tilting his head to the side for a moment.
"I am sort of young." I now raised both eyebrows, just when I was about to speak Carlisle door opened up. He stepped inside looking between us, suddenly grinning, chuckles flying from his mouth.
"Hey Edward I thought you weren't gonna be here till later. I see you've met my favorite intern." I rolled my eyes in a teasing manner slightly backing away from both men.
"You exaggerate sir, all I really do is shadow behind you and try and keep organised." I smiled sheepishly feeling Dr Cullen squeeze at my shoulder a couple times, looking at me with a look in his eyes.
"Don't put yourself under the bus. You can go on your lunch." Edward casually brushes his fingers over his nose. He looked almost pained for a second like he had a headache, his eyes scanning me once more nodding his head at me with a small greeting.
"Alright well I'll leave you to your family business, very nice meeting you Edward." The brightly lit smile was shot his way, while he strained out for a moment telling me goodbye in a timid soft tone.
I made haste of leaving out of the office, entering into the bright white hallways. I took a deep breath in.
That was probably the strangest encounter I had ever had. I slightly tilted my head to the side to sniff my clothes. I smelled scenes of coco butter location, and the lingering scent of my body wash and perfume.
Though my thoughts seemed cranky I walked down the hall thinking to myself more then anything. Maybe the rumors about them around town was true, I had barely met the Cullen's back when I moved back here, I was a senior and all of them were gone from school. So was Bella Swan.
