Her mother sighs heavily, her expression a mixture of disappointment and concern. "Davina, do you have any idea what time it is?"

Davina glances at the clock on the wall and winces. It was much later than she realized. "I'm sorry, mom, dad. I lost track of time. We were hanging out and having fun, I just forgot to keep track of time."

"That's not the point, Davina." Her father says, his tone growing angry. "The point is, we were worried sick about you! We had no idea where you were or what happened to you! You usually tell us where you'll be if you're out that late. That's the rule."

"I know, but..." Davina started to protest, but her mother, Layla, interrupted her. "Davina, we just want to make sure you're safe. Your father and I love you and we worry about you. We want to know that you're okay and that you're not in any danger." Her mother's voice softened, her concern evident in her eyes.

Davina sighs, feeling guilty for causing her parents worry. "I understand, mom. I'm sorry for not letting you know. I'll try to be more mindful of the time next time."

Kalvin's expression softens slightly, but he still looked stern. "We're not trying to ruin your fun, Davina. We just want you to be safe."

Davina nods, feeling a pang of guilt in her chest. "I know, dad. I'll be more responsible, I promise."

Her parents exchanges a glance before her father sighs. "Alright, just please be more careful next time. We love you, Davina." Kalvin gives his daughter a small smile, hoping that his words would assure her. "We are just concerned for your safety."

Davina nods, feeling a mix of relief and guilt. "I love you guys too. I'll be more careful, I promise."

Layla reaches out and takes Davina's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "We trust you, sweetheart. Just remember to keep us informed, okay?"

Davina smiles gratefully at her mother. "I will, mom. Thanks."

"So, who was making you so smiley and giggly that you forgot about the time?" Kalvin asked, raising an eyebrow at his daughter.

Davina blushes, unable to stop her smile. "His name is Zed-"

"This is about a boy?" Kalvin's eyes widen, not expecting his daughter to admit that she was with a boy. He knew that was going to happen sooner or later, but he wasn't ready for it. He wasn't ready for his little girl to grow up. He suddenly felt a surge of protectiveness and concern, knowing how boys could be, especially at Davina's age. "Davina, are you sure he's a good guy? You know we want what's best for you, right?"

Davina's smile fades slightly at her father's reaction, but she nods earnestly. "Yeah, dad, I'm sure. Zed is...he's amazing. He's kind and funny and he makes me really happy. I know you want what's best for me, and I promise I wouldn't be with him if I didn't think he was a good guy."
