𝙼𝚈 𝙳𝙴𝙻𝙸𝙲𝙰𝚃𝙴 𝙷𝙴𝙰𝚁𝚃 is in shambles, I just feel numb. It's as if someone punched me in the torso repeatedly, trying to beat my intestines out my mouth. Not even the passing of my late father was this agonising.

Ping...
My cell phone sounds.

The texts from Nangamso come pouring in

The texts from Nangamso come pouring in. Oh thank God, my baby's safe! My lips involuntarily curl into a smile. Regardless of whatever issues we may have, I love Nanga and her eccentric personality. I wish our mutual loss could bring us together once again.

"Let's make sure you're all strapped up." Qaphela gingerly speaks as he secures me onto the beige  cabin seat. I shoot him a faint smile, brushing my fingers over his hand. I'm truly grateful for him at this moment.

The door of the jet closes and the steps that accommodated us inside, finally disappear. With both of my hands clenching the seat, I prepare for takeoff. As the crew begins speaking over the intercom, everything around me fades into black.

"I'm sorry for burdening you." I finally voice out when we're settled in the air. He breathes out thick heavy air, boring his orbs into mine. He extends his hand for me to grab. Once I loop my hand into his, he pulls me in his direction and onto his lap. He then gently wraps his arms around me.

"You will never burden me, ever. Your pain is mine to experience too. Whatever turmoil you experience will be mine to experience as well." He avows, pulling me deeper into his chest before landing a kiss on my forehead. My chest rattles as I inhale loudly, my tears crowding my eyes before falling down my cheeks.

"I love you Qaphela." I confess, for the first time.

"Uthandwa yimi kaGxarha." He replies, heaving a sigh of what sounds like relief. My mouth expands, releasing the sound of my exhaustion, a yawn.

"Let's sleep baby." Qaphela states, caressing my arm.
Instantly, a state of tranquility consumes us. It's not long before his light snoring induces my own slumber.
