This story takes place on a continent that, throughout most of its years of existence, has been plagued by strange conundrums and wars that are seen to pop up out of nowhere. This is most likely because of the large number of kingdoms and controlled territories on it.
In the Southeast of the continent is a Kingdom that, for the most part, has remained the most prosperous, properly controlled, and well organized. This is most likely assisted by the Royals' interesting abilities. For generations Since the founding of the kingdom it's kings and queens have almost had a supernatural ability to heavily influence the emotions of its people. This ability is also assisted by the Kingdom's national relics, a pair of weapons created by the Kingdom's Founder to help increase the scope of this emotion warping power.
The territory that lies directly above this emotion warping Kingdom. Is the Axehead mountain range. A piece of land that almost seems in constant turmoil. Control of the land constantly flip-flops between 2 noble parties. One party more diplomatic, the other more militaristic. Almost all the people in it are considered dangerous to others as most adults and teenagers end up in mercenary parties and are commonly highly aggressive. This territory does, in fact, have a relic that belonged to the Kingdom that existed there before it fell apart. And although the relic was then stolen and most likely sold, it was supposedly a 2-handed axe the size of a grown human.
And to the far North. The Kingdom of Northwood. Most don't dare to try to invade as the average height for a full grown Human is 6ft or taller. Having the interesting reputation of being seemingly permanently frozen as almost all year round It's covered in snow and and the further you get into the Pine covered mountains, the more dangerous it Becomes. Northwood is also the holder of the second most dangerous relic of all the kingdoms. It's an absolutely massive Claymore that almost seems to glow an eerie red. The last Wielder of the sword , the founder of the kingdom was supposedly able To take on Just about anyone that ever stood in front of him, no matter whether It was a single soldier or an entire army.
Last but not least. A large portion of the west side of the continent is controlled by the Kingdom of Caverns. It gets that name from despite having a large amount of territory in the heavily mountainous and forested area it controls almost the entirety of all civilization, lies underground in the large cavern systems. Now, Caverns is considered to be the problem causer. As most of the continents' conundrums have started because of it, its ruling party almost seems too ambitious. And commonly tries to invade and take Control of the other Kingdom's borders. They usually get fought back But it's a very difficult process, especially because the soldiers almost seem inhumanly durable Along with the fact that the height of them is Quite sad compared to most others as rarely do you see a Adult that breaches 5.6ft. Now, it could be worse as the relic. This kingdom has is by far the most deadly. It's a gauntlet that can expel strange string-like wires at wildly quick speeds that are capable of puncturing through anything. With a simple flick of your wrist. You could kill over 100 people. If you were really trying, you could probably kill over a 1000 easily with just one hand. Luckily, its creator made it so that it really only matched to him. It would be a one in a 1000 Chance to put that gauntlet on your hand and have it work for you, as most often, it kills whoever it wears it unless it deems you worthy of its unstoppable power.
Although tensions have always been high throughout the kingdoms.
It's never really breached a full-scale continental war. But over the past 100 years. The tides have begun to change. Tensions are higher than ever before, and it seems that the future holds not only a war but the largest war this continent has ever seen and most likely ever will.
