"Natural instincts,"scoffed Blu,"There's nothing natural about being thrown halfway across a room. Well, I'll show him. Hmm."
"Wow, you're really into this flying thingy,"stated Dew standing on the side of the table.
As Blu was too distracted reading the book and marking his points with the pencil,he encouraged himself,"I can do this. I just have to work out the physics. I have quadrated my vector angles."
"You messed up an angle,"said the spix while inspecting her brother's notes
"I did?oh.I did,okay!"he coughed
" I have adjusted for wind shear.Positive reinforcement. Good. Okay. Let's see. "
"Flaps open,"he opens his wings,"Perfect. Landing gear,"he wiggled his claws,"Check."
"Tail flaps," he flapped his tail," Operational. And,
actually, not bad,"Said the bird as he prepares to fly for the first time," This is it. Let's fly,"he flipped the switch of the lights aligning the table's sides,"Just keep it simple. Thrust, lift, drag and weight. Thrust, lift, drag, weight,"He sped up chanting the mantra he kept, however just as he reached the edge, his second thoughts caused him to falter and stop last minute.Just as he was about to fall down,he saved himself by grabbing the decoration light wire with his beak.
He sighed in relief but soon fell entangled by the wires.Dew rushed from behind and started to detangle the spix much to her surprise and amusement
The sound of footsteps rushing down caused the two to look up.The two eyed the female in a way which one could decipher a thousand or more sentences.
In a certain corner of the house, draped in the sunlight, the human woman and her macaws sat in silence. The male, distressed on her knee while the female perched on her shoulder, seemed worried.
"Blu?I promised I would always look out for you two, didn't I?"said the woman to the spix,"And have I ever broken a promise? I'm scared, too, but I wouldn't make you do this if it wasn't the right thing to do. What do you say, Blu?"
They both look at each other as Linda holds her fist out gently, the male spix responded as he let his beak touch the hand followed by his claw in agreement, imitating the booming sound.
Dew stared in content as the two bonded.
"That's my big, brave boy. And we'll be back home before we even know it."
