Tortured poet

Why am I a tortured poet if no one is torturing me
Why do I overthink when I'm in the happiest relationship known to a man
He is the most perfect boyfriend
I'm just a girl
The girl who overthinks every little thing
The girl cries because she sees a spider
The girl who was in pieces until he met her
She loved writing poems
Stories
Everything that came to her mind
He knew how to cool down her temper
Reassure her when she was upset
He knew how to ball while she knew Aristotle
He played sports while she was reading and thinking about him
Everyone knew that these two wouldn't stay as friends
They looked at each other for too long to be just friends
But she still overthinked
Wrote poems about how she loved him
Hoping he wouldn't leave her
For someone prettier
For someone hotter
With a better ass or better thighs
He says
"Love, don't be afraid. You are the only girl I've ever loved so much like it's breathing."
He hugs her
Kisses her lips
He made sure she knew she was loved
She didn't have to relate to tolerate it by Taylor Swift
He kissed her forehead
Told her she was his and she was the woman he would marry
He got her tulips for valentines
He wore her hair tie on his wrist
He never pushed her to do something she didn't want to do
He loved her even though she overthinked
She loved him more
He says that he loved her even more
But she was still haunted by her past
She remembered the spring of the previous year
One cut
Two
Five
Rinse
Repeat
Blood was soaking through her bandages
Another day in school
Wanting to end it
She wrote books to distract her mind from the fact she hated herself
In the summer she met him
He was the sunshine that made her happier
She is still haunted by her past
But now she is happy
The tortured poet found her peace
