the newly overhauled ARV-01: ATLAS is now complete, i just turned twenty-four two weeks ago, and am still being forced to endure commander shirogane and princess allura quintessia, in piloting the giant overgrown house cats, that is the five lions of voltron, with their own overhaul being complete, the alteans were more then happy to work on the lions removing the alloy from the trans-reality comet replacing it with alloys they obtained through my arrival with my evangelion, which had also gone through a full overhaul, for what reason that they decided to upgrade unit-01 when they expected me to pilot the black lion, i have no clue but here we are
the alloy from the comet was then used on the atlas itself granting the vessel interdimensional capabilities, which we will be using, to find a new home for the alteans, we set out in three weeks time, and i am honestly dreading it, i know that my past with the evangelions will be back to bite me and i am not sure if i am ready for it
there was a chime at the door of the office granted to shinji, while the refit of the atlas was underway
"enter" i said, as allura walked in

"princess, what can i do for you" i asked
"i just figured i would check in on you, captain" allura replied, i snorted
"princess, you and the good commander have made my life almost as bad as fighting the angels, especially those gladiator bots" i said, she giggled
"you said that you learned best through adversity" she said
"i also said my life had been hell up onto that point, but no listened to that part" i said equally amused, despite words my time with the garrison were the best years of my life by a wide margin, training was hard yes, but considering the mission i'd be taking part in it was necessary
"i don't think i have seen outside of your paladin suit" i said
"and i have never seen you in yours" allura commented, i shrugged
"my plugsuit has seen me through many adversities, and the paladins suits are needing to be overhauled because of the greater synchronization between lion and pilot, they are using my plugsuit to enhance the suits" i said
"among other things i hear they are attempting to use the different kamen rider forms, to also enhance the paladin suits" allura said, i shrugged
"fortunately for me they won't be using me as a guinea pig, how are the new fighters" i asked
"our pilots love them, they are more powerful and more versatile then the MFE fighters, the garrison is mass-producing them" allura said i nodded
"figures, they are likely mass-producing a lot" i said
"all of the technological things they can, they are reverse engineering the more mystical side of things they are leaving to what is left of my people" allura said, i nodded that made sense
"and how are your people coping with this situation" i asked
"well, better then i thought, the people taken advantage of by both lotor, and honerva, are healing, it is a slow process, but i am hopeful they will do well" allura said
"i see, that's good" i said
"indeed, though they are interested in their rather aloof commanding officer" allura said, my eyebrow raised
"most of the people that will be aboard the atlas, are passengers cared for by you, why would they care about me" i asked
"you command the ship they will be living upon for the foreseeable future, and we know for a fact there will be adversity" allura said, i paused, that was fair
"many are wondering weather it wouldn't be a good idea to become dragons, and fight alongside the fighter pilots and voltron" allura said
"i do hope you are discouraging that notion, they have been used enough let us protect them" i said
"i have, but i have also given it some thought, and i feel it would be a good idea it would be able to allow us to better defend ourselves in the future from individuals such as zarkon" allura said, i paused
"princess, this is your people and your own life, i will not tell you what you should or should not do, that being said, i ask that you give this some serious thought" i said
"i intend to have my coronation the day before our launch" allura said
"alright, i assume there is more to it" i said, she nodded
"i would like voltron to be apart of my coronation, and the only remaining active paladin" allura said
