Ventis pov

I get out of bed, my toes touching the cold floor. I turn around to go make my bed when I notice it's completely red.
"Oh shit..." I say under my breath so my mother doesn't hear me. I panicked and I did what came to my head first. I ripped the sheets off my bed and threw it down the stairs. I look at the time and quickly get dressed in the male school uniform and make my way down for breakfast. I then almost trip over the red sheets on my way down.
I hear a door open behind me. I turn around to see my little sister rubbing her eyes and yawing. Heart racing I quickly grab the sheets and run down the stairs to the laundry room and come back up like nothing happened except I was panting and a little out of breath. I tried to calm down and started to get ready for school.
I was going to the kitchen when I noticed my mom passed out on the couch with an empty bottle of wine in her hand and a bruise on her forehead.
I can't help but feel a spark of anger rise up inside me as I remember why the bruise was there.

*Flashback*
My dad was drunk last night. He was going to hit me right before my mother jumped in to save me. Once I realized what he did to my mom, anger rose up inside me like a burning flame as I yelled at him "Get out!" "What did you just say you little bitch!?" "I said, GET THE FUCK OUT OF THIS HOUSE!" My dad ran like a little girl. Last night I couldn't get any sleep. I just stared at the roof, thinking. I eventually fell asleep after taking way too many sleeping pills.

I realized I was just standing there so I took the bottle out of her hand not wanting it to fall and shatter, making her clean up more of a mess than she did last night. I put it on the little wooden table we have in our living room. I started to overthink again. Why was my family like this? Why couldn't I have gotten a better dad, one that cared about me. I put the thoughts aside so I didn't cry in front of my little sister and got some breakfast for us. I got us some left-over chicken noodle soup and warmed it up in the microwave.

I then ushered my little sister out the door and down the front steps before we were late for school. Halfway on the way to school I noticed someone was following us. My breath caught in my throat. "Shit.." I mumbled "hm?" Kirumi looked at me "it's nothing I was just...talking to myself" I replied. Her attention then turned back to kicking rocks that were on the sidewalk. I then urged Kirumi to pick up the pace but told her we were going to be late so she didn't question me. I first entered the elementary section of the school to drop off Kirumi. Before I left I warned her "look out for people outside the widows. If you see anyone tell the teacher immediately" she looked a little scared but nodded and went to her desk. I then booked it for the highschool section when I bumped into someone on my way.
"You bitch watch where you're going," I heard a girl say. I looked up to see Brittney. Xiao, the most popular guy's girlfriend. "Well put, you sure told me. I'm trembling by your mere presence, have mercy on me please." I got up, laughed and walked away leaving her in shock and anger while the people who were watching laughed at her. I can't believe I stood up for myself in front of everyone. My heart was racing and my palms were a little sweaty. I wiped them on my shorts, took a deep breath and started to pick up my pace. I totally forgot to put a tampon in my ass so I had to rush to the bathroom. When I got there I saw Xiao because I went into the male bathroom. He looked up at me from the sink. "Why are you staring, is there shit on my face?" Xiao sarcastically asked me. "N-no, sorry" I was so embarrassed I quickly went into a stall. I swear my face is as red as a tomato because it feels warm. Xiao left and I let a sigh of relief out. Those damn packages are so loud he would be so confused. When I was done I got out and walked toward the gym to help set up chairs for the assembly that was this morning. When they were done setting things up we sat down and waited for the younger grades to come.
The grade elevens started filling in the gym then the younger grades filled in after them. Once the whole gym was full, principal Diluc came in and stood by the mic.
"Good morning Students and teachers. I would like to start off the morning with some announcements" Diluc said and paused for a little bit "we are having new modules this semester. They will be dance, music, and design. These will only be for older grades and taught by our new teacher" Diluc walked off the stage and our vice principal, Kaeya walked up.
"Hey bitches, bros, and non-binary hoes!" Kaeya welcomed us. "We have a new teacher and this talented person is Mrs.Cecilia!" Everyone cheered like crazy as she walked up.
"Hello everyone! My name is Mrs.Cecilia and I will be teaching the new modules for this year" she introduced herself "I have a son and a daughter-" she was cut off by Kirumi yelling at the top of her lungs "hi mom!" People laughed a bit "hi sweetheart" My mother said with a smile on her face. Her smile was cut off by the sound of glass shattering, everyone was silent and I saw the vice principal and the principal give each other a look before our vice principal booked it to the door and pulled down the thick metal panel that covers the door just as he backs up the sound of a gun breaks the silence.
