marley

she stepped down onto california soil at the airport, packed and ready for twitch con. 4 days basically alone in san diego worried her, but she knew she was able to make more friends there, especially at the after parties.

the night before the first twitch con day, gamer supps was throwing a party at the hotel they sponsored for a bunch of streamers and youtubers to stay at.

"oh my fucking goddd" marley cursed into the mirror, trying to get her eyeliner perfect.

"don't stress, it will probably come off by the end of the night" emma (langevin) comforted her, also finishing up her makeup.

"what do you mean by that??" she cocked at eyebrow at her with a smirk.

"i meaannn that these parties can get pretty hot and crowded.. or maybe what you're thinking about as well. you never know" she responded putting down her brush and powder.

"not.. the plan.." marley examined her eyelids to see if her makeup was even. "whatever" she huffed and put her eyeliner down.

marley has known emma since she started gaining followers. always the person she went to for online advice.

after basically throwing on her outfit to try to get to the party at a reasonable time, they were out the door and on the way to where the party was being thrown.

at the entrance they got their wristbands and headed into the place thumping with loud music. it seemed like a club, but with no one dancing on eachother.

"drinks??" emma leaned over to her.

"is that a question?" she scoffed back. they both headed to the bar.

marley got a malibu bay breeze, emma followed in her footsteps ordering the same thing.

they both bounced around talking to different groups of people, some big and some small creators. marley enjoyed introducing herself and bonding about video games they had in common.

"overwatch? who even plays that anymore?" jschlatt joked, taking a sip of the whisky drink in his hand. she's also known him since she started streaming, making an appearance in one of his older videos.

"a lot of people actually" she responded with defensiveness.

"the only people who i know still plays that is the group boys"

"oh really? i didn't think they really played games other than yumi?"

"they all do, they just don't record all the time. you record everytime you play?" he got her there.

"well.. no.." she looked around, noticing emma was talking to swagger and a couple other guys in a group.

"go ask them, they're right there" he pointed to the same group.

"oh no, i'm fine" she looked back at him as he furrowed his brows.

"why not, they don't bite" he trailed over to them, as she had no option but to follow.

"heyy!!" he said energetically, inserting himself. she peaked behind him observing the men. her chest fluttered for some reason, she never got this way meeting new people. she assumed it was from her and nat watching a bunch of their videos the other night and seeing them in person.

"this is marley! she played overwatch" he stepped to the side and looked down at you. heys and hellos were exchanged between her and the boys.

"i don't just play overwatch" she confronted schlatt, looking up at him.

"what else do you play?" yumi questioned.

"a little bit of everything" she stood up a little taller. "he thinks no one plays overwatch anymore" marley responded signaling to schlatt.

"it's still a fun game to play sometimes, idk about all the time though" yumi responded.

"yeah for sure" she agreed. the rest of them continued the conversation as marley felt helpless with it. she listened intently though, noticing how professional they seemed irl compared to their videos, other than a few jokes here and there.

she couldn't help but always trail her gaze back to the toned man in the mask, glasses, and baseball hat. she could tell he was talking by how his jaw moved up and down, but couldn't really make anything out from the distance between them.

"i'm gonna grab another drink" marley tapped emma on the shoulder and she nodded in response.

"just another malibu baybreeze" the bartender nodded and walked away to make the drink.

her arms crossed, leaning them on the bar. the same man from the group walked next to her. they both turned to eachother simultaneously.

"marley" he leaned down to her, the first words she's heard him say the whole night.

"hello mr isaacwhy" she turned to pick up the drink the bartender put down.

his head turned to the bar to talk to the man behind it.

"just a white claw, any flavor. can you put it in a cup with a straw though?" the man nodded back, walking away again. she admired his eyes behind the glasses as he turned back to her.

"you really want to be mysterious huh?" she poked. he responded with a chuckle.

"yeah, i just like to separate my online life from my real life"

"i can respect that, i wish i did that"

"why so?"

"eh, guys are creepy sometimes, being a streamer and all"

"so you play overwatch?"

"i play everything" she reiterated. "but that's been my choice as of recent i guess"

"who do you main?"

"i try to switch it up but i like widow a lot"

"i could've guessed that" he grabbed his drink from the counter.

"oh yeah?" she raised a brow.

"yeah, you kinda resemble her" she rolled her eyes in response.

"haven't heard that before" she knew what he was suggesting to. the long dark hair running down her back and her skinny frame.

"if you were a little taller, you would be uncanny"

"ahhh okay i see how it is" she took a sip.

he looked back to his group across the room, flashing his sharp jawline through his mask and looking back at her.

"we should play sometime" he offered.

"i'm down, what's your twitter so i can send my discord to you" she shot her shot. they exchanged information and sent eachother their discords.

"well i'll see you around marley"

"cya isaac" he strutted away from her, leaving her at the bar alone.
