Scene 5: School

The next day at school, the whole school was in the auditorium for announcements. Mr. Santiago walks onto the stage.
Mr. Santiago: Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Buenos Dias senor and senoritas.
Students: Good morning. Buenos Dias.
Mr. Santiago: I will be the principal until your new one flies in next month.
A boy student: What happen to principal Johnson?
Mr. Santiago: What's your name, senor?
Tyreik: Tyreik, sir.
Mr. Santiago: Tyreik, what grade are you in?
Tyreik: I am a senior, sir.
Mr. Santiago: Ok. What have the seniors been doing as a group here? And to answer your two questions my name is Mr. Jason Santiago and Mr. Johnson got fired.
Tyreik: Oh good. Can I talk to you after this Mr. Santiago? Are you the twins dad? We haven't done anything as a group, sir. Mr. Johnson said it's no point we been in class the first semester and majority of us are finished, sir.
Mr. Santiago: Yes. Yes. And we are going to change that. We are going to have a prom and send y'all on a class trip, so all seniors stay back so we can come up with ideas. Any other questions?
Students shook their heads no.
Mr. Santiago: Ok if you want to talk to me sit on the right side of the auditorium. Seniors sit in the middle and everybody else can leave. Have a nice day.
About five students sat on the right side. After all the students left there were about forty students left in the middle.
Mr. Santiago: Is this the whole senior class?
Liyah: Yes sir.
Mr. Santiago: Any of you seniors?

They all replied: No sir we are freshmen.

Mr. Santiago: Ok. Is there a teacher that is head of the seniors?

Liyah: Yes the basketball coach and the cheerleading coach.

Mr. Santiago: Where are they now?

Kai: They might be in either their office in the gym or in the main office signing late hall passes for the kids who came in late.

Mr. Santiago: Wayne and Cee-Cee can you go see if you can find them please?

Wayne: Yes sir. ( As he helps his girlfriend Cee-Cee up.)

Wayne and Cee-Cee leave.

Mr. Santiago: Tyreik do you want to talk to me now while we wait?

Tyreik: Yes sir. (As he climbs out of his seat and onto the stage with Mr. Santiago.)

Mr. Santiago: Yes son?

Tyreik: I don't want to get in no trouble with anybody.

Mr. Santiago: What's Wrong son?

Tyreik: Mr. Johnson was raping me and those five freshmen. He told us that if we didn't want to get suspended or expelled we would do as he says.

Mr. Santiago: Ok, I will bring it up in the board meeting next week and make sure he is never around kids again and he goes to jail.

Tyreik: Ok cool. Thanks Mr. Santiago.

Mr. Santiago: Your welcome son. Let me go and tell the other guys.

Tyreik: Ok. (Tyreik gets off the stage and sits down and starts talking to his classmates.)

Mr. Santiago goes over to the five boys and tells them what is going to happen and they are happy. They thank Mr. Santiago. They get a pass and they go to class.

Everybody is talking and waiting for the coaches to come in. Dewayne and Ciara come back with the coaches. The coaches go up on stage and shake hands with the principal.

Mr. Santiago: Everybody quiet down we are going to get started.

Everybody quiets down and sits down.

Mrs. Turner: I am Mrs. Turner. I am the cheerleading coach and I am here to see what ya'll want your prom theme to be and your graduation colors. Ok?

The class nods their head.

Mrs. Turner: Prom Themes: Silver Nights or Spring in Paris?

Everybody Shouts: Spring in Paris.

Mrs. Turner: That was quick. Next graduation colors. Mr. O'Neil is handing out a piece of paper with the colors on it. Circle the color and hand it back.

Mr. O'Neil hands out a piece of paper to each student. The students circle a color and give it to Mr. O'Neil. After all the papers were turned in and tallied it up.

Mrs. Turner: We have a winner Black and Red. Ok I will see ya later. Have a nice day.

Mrs. Turner shakes Mr. Santiago hand and leaves.

Mr. O'Neil: I am Mr. O'Neil and I am the basketball coach and I am going to do the trip and the name for the team. We are going to vote for the team name: The Bulldogs or The Wolves.

Everybody shouts: Bulldogs.

Mr. O'Neil: Alright we have a name for the team. Aaliyah and Ciara are handing out pieces of papers with four trips on it, circle one and hand it back.

Everybody: Who?

Mr. O'Neil: The Santiago twins.

Everybody: Oh.

So the twins hand out the papers. Everybody including the twins circle their choice and everybody hands the papers back to the twins and the twins tally them up.

Mr. O'Neil: Do we have a winner?

Liyah and Cee-Cee: Yes. We are going to... Miami bitches.

The class shouts and screams.

Mr. O'Neil: Alright well congrats and have fun and I will see ya'll later.

Mr. Santiago: Settle down ladies and gentlemen. Ok we figure out all the stuff ya'll want to do. I will go and come up with dates for all of these events. Any questions? If not ya'll can go. Have a nice day.

The seniors all get up and leave the auditorium.
