The air hung heavy with the scent of damp earth and decaying leaves, a pungent aroma that was almost as thick as the shadows that clung to the winding paths of the forgotten valley. Maahi, her heart a frantic drum against her ribs, darted through the maze of narrow lanes, her breath catching in her throat with every panicked glance over her shoulder. The man, his face obscured by the dim light filtering through the dense canopy overhead, was relentless in his pursuit.
Maahi knew that she was running out of options. The labyrinthine paths seemed to twist and turn endlessly, each new corner offering a fleeting hope that quickly dissolved into despair. She had to find a hiding place, something, *anything*, to break the relentless chase. Then, she spotted it - a small, crumbling shed, its wooden door barely hanging by a single rusty hinge.
With a gasp, Maahi slipped inside, her body trembling with a mixture of terror and exhaustion. She huddled in the corner, the smell of mildew and rot filling her nostrils. From her vantage point, she could see the relentless figure, a silhouette against the fading light, moving further down the path.
Taking a deep, shuddering breath, Maahi closed her eyes, trying to calm the frantic beating of her heart. It was then that she felt it - a cold hand clamping over her mouth, stifling her scream. Her eyes flew open, but all she saw was a dark figure looming in front of her.
A suffocating panic surged through her, a scream trapped in her throat, the air stolen from her lungs. It was then that she felt a sharp, stinging pain, the world tilting, then darkness.
And then, there was the sound of a heavy thud, the echo of a struggle, and a familiar voice, filled with raw urgency, calling her name. 'Maahi! Maahi, utho!'

With a jolt, Maahi opened her eyes. The world was blurry, the air thick and heavy. She felt a strong arm around her, holding her close, a familiar scent of sun and sandalwood enveloping her.
'It's okay, Maahi. tum theek ho abh,Main aagaya hoon'
A voice, gentle and reassuring, whispered in her ear. Slowly, her vision sharpened, and she saw Daya's worried face, concern etched on his features as Shreya watched them from a distance sweating and panicking from running for Maahi.
The image faded, replaced by the familiar scene of bedroom. The sunlight streaming in through the window felt warm on her skin. Shreya was lying in her bed, her sheets tangled around her as she sat in her bed with taking heavy breathes clenching the bedsheets into her palm.
Shreya:(mummering)Sapna tha..Sapna Shreya,Lekin aise sapna kyu aaya Maahi aur ..(she bite her lips recollecting Daya face in her dream)
Shreya, her heart still thudding in her chest, struggled to stand up. Beads of sweat clung to her skin, her breath coming in short, ragged gasps. She looked at Picture frame across her bed and clenched it in hand,It was the picture of Daya and Maahi togeather. Her worried expression mirroring her own fear as she dialed Maahi number which continuously busy.
