Ch-4: Cleared

Gary walked inside his apartment. He plopped himself on the sofa as he was about to close his eyes he heard a noise indicating his phone just received a message which was from his mum , the message said 'my cub , go inside the kitchen and check out the counter top for me honey'.
Gary stood up and walked inside the kitchen he checked the counter top as he soon as he saw it his eyes showed glint of emotion as it went back being dull as he chuckled. He saw the only dessert he likes, hates and eats, Chocolate Cake. Near it was a note saying :
' i am sorry cub mumma had only little bit of time i could only make this much for you sorry mumma isn't there for you i will back soon by the day after.'

Gary stared at the cake for a while then sighed as he took a knife and cut a piece of the cake. He ate the piece placing it on a plate neatly with a fork. He covered the rest of the cake and placed inside the refrigerator.

He washed the plate and moved back to the living room and called his mom.

On call
Gary: "Hello mom, good morning how are you? did you have breakfast? Did you have your tablets after breakfast?"
Mom:"Omg my cub one by one,  good evening my cub I am fine. how are you?"
Gary:"I am fine mom and ....."
Mom: "ok ok now don't give me that look I just had my breakfast five mins ago and yeah I will take my medicines. How's sam ? I heard that he had an accident."
Gary: "hmm yes he's alright and I just visited him today morning and I uhhh yeah just had a talk with sam's dad."
Mom: "Hmm this kid he always gets himself hurt somehow."
Gary: "I know right , mom he's just clumsy and short tempered that's how he is."

Mom: "Haha I know but you should be by his side and take care of him and by the way how was the cake cub did you like it?"
Gary: "ofc I will take care of him and yeah I loved the cake mom."
Mom:"hmm I will make more next time ,ok bye bye cub I have a meeting to attend I will call you later."

Gary: " byee mom take care don't forget to take your medicine."

Gary kept his phone in his pocket as he walked towards the balcony. He looked up at the beautiful sky painted with hues of pastel purple and orange. He took out his phone clicked a picture and added it in his Instagram story with a caption. "My world is filled with colours because of you".

Sam stared at his room wall in daze. He flinched slightly when he heard a knock on his door he knew it was his mom by the knock. He let her in, he guessed two reasons why she was here. One :she was here to ask what had happened between him and Gary or two: whether he wanted something to eat and how he was feeling. He stared at her as she sat on the bed near him.

She gently took his palm in hers as she caressed the wounds. "How are you feeling darling? Do you want something to eat?" His second guess was right. "I ma fine it still stings a bit, but yeah and I don't feel hungry." He replied and his mother stopped caressing his hand.

"Hmm so you don't want to have food and here I made japchae , jjajangmyeon  aiyoo ma how can me and ava complete it alone". His mother said dramatically as he chuckled at her antics. " Don't worry eomma i am here to save you i will eat up with you so that the food won't go waste. Wait, why is appa not eating with us?" Sam questioned his mom who looked at the blood stained wall. "He has to attend a sudden meeting due an accident in another country's factory. "

His mom replied as she turned back to him, as she pushed back his hairs stroking them gently. " I know this is an age where there's love war between friends, miscommunication misunderstanding and all that. I also believe that you are capable of resolving and make decisions on your own. But if you feel that you need to share it to someone you know that me and appa are always here for you".

He stared at his mother for a  second and he knew his first guess was also right. He understood that he needs to talk it out to her his 2nd best friend , so it would help him give a clearer view which will help him decide his path. He sighed and then explained every scenario from the  party to the rooftop to their argument in the hospital leaving behind a few.

"Ok did you listen to his explanation like did you let him explain properly ? Ayoo my darling you should listen to him for once lah. He's your best friend from diapers and i know about that child. He is very mature understanding and is very silent in nature so when these people talk to you without hesitation it means they care about you and wants you to understand them.I have seen him handle you so calmly, patiently listening to you, and advise with care. It all indicates his affection for you honey it's rare to get these kind of friends these days treasure him he's a gem. Give him a chance to explain ok? " His mom said as he sam listened to her attentively, when she mentioned care and affection he felt warm in his heart. He felt that feeling was very different from what he felt for ava.

'Wait why was he comparing ava with Gary? Gary is always special than ava . Heh' sudden realisation dawned upon him. He just let his best friend down. He had to listen to his point right now.,he owes Gary an apology for behaving like an idiot and talk to him like that.

He felt angry on himself for hurting his best buddy. He looked down the floor as he said " I am sorry mom I am an idiot you're right talking out to you made it clear for me. Thank you mom." He said as a lone tear escaped his eye.

His mom gently wiped it off as she lifted his head and said " We're humans honey and we tend to make mistakes but then we should learn from it so this is a lesson for you to believe in your close ones and relying on there right person to share your thoughts and your always welcomed in eomma's lap to cry and share your pain. " His mom said as she patted his head, got up and left his room not before reminding him to come down for dinner.

Sam stood up as he walked towards his cupboard and picked a shiny black box decorated with beautiful pastel purple charms on it. It was a box gifted by gary on his 16th birthday, a year when he first grew out a mustache.

It was the prettiest and eye catching gifts he had gotten that year. He remembered what Gary had said to him when he gifted him that box. "If you feel suffocated or confused open and look into this box you will feel better."

He kept the box aside as he took out another box which was white in colour but with his name engraved in deep purple colour. It was gifted by Gary on his 18th birthday. He opened it to find the letter and an shiny ocean blue stud earrings still intact inside the box. He smiled to himself and opened letter. He read it and chuckled at it, closed the box and kept it back safely.

He opened the black box and felt his worries dissolving.
