It was Sunday evening... Karuna entered dev's room

Kji- (wiping her hands from the loose end of the saaree) hogayi packing

Dev was zipping the luggage, meher was drinking water and vivaan was playing with his bat and they nodded yes looking at karuna

Kji- agar packing hogayi he ... Toh table pe padi wo passes kaun rakhega?

Meher turned towards the table with a 🤦 expression and quickly put the passes inside her bag pack

Kji- charger rakh liya?

Dev- shit... Wo toh rehgaya... Vivaan.. meher ke room se 3 charger le aa

Vivaan came with 3 chargers and placed them in the luggage

They brought a bag and put a pair of shoes in them...

They went towards the dining and started having dinner when dev's phone started ringing with a caller id "chabbu chudail"

Meher- who chabbu chudail?

Dev- ananya ! (He answered the call ignoring his family's death glares) Hello... Hn.... Ok I will come along.... Mein v aaraha hun that's final .... Accha ok 15mins mein I will be there... Bye

Meher- kya hua?

Dev- wo passes ka ek photocopy chahiye.. wo bol rahi thi khud jaake karegi but mein v chala jaunga!

Vivaan- and what is this chabbu chudail

Dev- ab jo jo he .. usse wahin toh bulaya jayega😌

Meher- isiliye didi apko dabbu bulati he😁

Dev- chup chap khanna kha bethke😒

After finishing his food he got three passes and walked out towards the compound... Waiting for 10 mins he decided to go to ananya's house

Ananya: kya he manav... Apna khanna kha nah (slapped his hands after he took a chapathi from her plate without asking)

Manav- didi yaar.... (Chewing his food) Dev bhaiya ke sath Jaa rahe ho bahar khalena... Mujhe khanne do abhi

Manav- date par khanna khakar nehi jaate (snatched back the chapathi)

Ananya - what the f... Faltu😤 .... Tune agar dubara apna he faltu muh khola apni never ending bakwass karne toh mera chappal aur tera muh😤

Manav- yaar khanne do nah! Chotta rajkumar hun mein gharka

Ananya - bada aya chota rajkumar... Kacchre ke dabbe se uthaya gaya tha tujhe

Manav- mummy yaaarrrr

Dji- ananya? (Warned from the kitchen)

Ananya - what ananya? Apka laadla Jo adhe ghante se bakwass kiye Jaa raaha he uska kya?

Dev- excuse me (he said leaning against the wall)

Ananya - (turned around him) tum?

Dev- ajj hin chalna hai nah?

Ananya looked at the clock realising it's already 7 minutes past 9:30

Ananya - so sorry... 2 mins ruko mein 5 minutes mein aati hun

Dji- arey dev beta.... Aao nah betho (walked out from the kitchen with a few chapathis)

Dev- namaste aunty... Nehi mein bahar hun... Fir kabhi aata hun

Dji- arey idhar Beth jao

Dev- nehi wo thoda fresh air chahiye😅

Dji- thik he

Dev was walking in the compound texting something in his phone when ananya came running murmuring "chalo chalo"

They reached outside the colony and went to the store just to realise it was already closed

Ananya - ohhh nooooo!

Dev- ab?

Ananya - park ke opposite side ek store he wo 11pm Tak khula rehte .... Chalooo

Dev- ok chalo

They reached to the store after walking a lot distance which they assumed to be short... They leaned to the shop desk and breathed for air

They got the copies and went back to street leading towards their home..

Dev- idhar pass mein ek auto stand he... Chalo wahi se chalte he

Ananya - tum jao I will prefer a walk

Dev- adhi raat ko chudail banke bhatakna he tumhe... Chalo kal subhe jagna v he

Ananya - tum jao nah yaar... Mujhe kyun irritate kar rahe ho

Dev: (was about to turn towards another side when he saw few boys were hanging out at a distance holding an alcohol bottle) umm.. chalo.. Chalke hin jaate he!

Ananya - what happened?

Dev: nothing chalo..

They were crossing those alcoholic boys when dev swiftly changed their sides... He held her by her shoulder and started walking ignoring the rants of those boys.
Ananya looked and him and few words started ringing inside her head "koi ho Ya na ho.. I am always here for you to protect you"... She closed her eyes then opened it to look at the man standing next to her walking silently.

Ananya - oh hello... Mein khudko protect kar sakti hun

Dev- mene kab kaha nehi kar sakti ho?

She gave him an eyebrow raising look pointing towards his hands accross her shoulder.. he took back his hand immediately

Dev- sorry... And it's not about protecting you but as a wise man I was just protecting a strong woman.. and that's my responsibility!

She smiled at him..

Ananya- auto lele?

Dev- nehi.. walk is a better option

and they started walking back home..
