"Excuse me. I gave an interview yesterday and this morning I received an email regarding further inquiries but I don't know where to go and whom to ask─" I appealed to the first receptionist that came to my sight but when I realized I just spurted out with my questions to the poor lady without greetings, my face smudged with redness.
"I-I'm sorry. Can you please assist me?" I shattered and apologized for my ill manners.
We are here to be professional. Where are your manners?! I mentally scolded myself.
"No worries, Mam. You come to the right place. Can you please show me the email," I heard the polite lady and took out my phone to show her.
After looking at my phone she indexed something on her computer and hung my phone back while I patiently stood there.
"Kim Danyi. Is it your name, Mam?" She asked, and I nervously nodded before tucking a raven knot of my hair behind my ear.
"You gave an interview yesterday for the Secretary position. Well, Mam let me lead you to the CEO's Office" She looked over the details on her screen and stood up from her chair while asking her partner to look after her and then reached out from her reception desk to guide me.
I parted my lips with anxiousness as I attempted to raise a question but then I closed my mouth. Nobody informed me about meeting the CEO. Yesterday before the interview, I got a message that a supervisor would be taking my interview as the CEO had to attend an emergency meeting which I was glad about as the CEO was known for his coldness and mercilessness.
"I was informed about your arrival and asked to assist you to the head office, Miss Kim. Currently, Mr. Jeon is waiting for you in his office." The receptionist spoke as she pressed the lift button and gestured for me to get in.
Stepping inside the lift she pressed the 72nd number which didn't make me wonder about how tall this building stood proudly touching the sky. I was somehow anxious about my dress and appearance. If only I had known who I was going to meet I would have dressed appreciably.
