The halls were quiet and calm except the occasional sound of the flames from the torches dancing in the calm darkness. Soon the sound of footsteps disturbed the silence, filling the air with its sound. A man with a crown of long brown Curley hair and glistening blue eyes walked through until he came to a wooden door, he gave it push and it opened to a small room, with a small fireplace in the corner where the flames were roaring like they wanted to be fed, maybe they did indeed need more wood to devour but that's wasn't the man's intent.
In the other corner laid a small bed, fitting for a small boy, and in the corners laid a small boy, sleeping peacefully like there was no cruelty in the world. The man approached the boy before placing a hand on his shoulder and gently nudging him to awake the boy. "Wake up my prince , I have some important matters to discuss with you." The man said, continuing to wake the boy.
The boy soon awoke and slowly opened his eyes to take a glance at his father standing beside him, before he said anything in return, a kind smile appeared on the boy's face. "Ser Harwin, it's late, why do you want to discuss important matters right now?" The boy asked innocently.
The father continued to gaze at the boy before stepping away so the boy could rise from his bed and stand up. "It's very important that your listen to me my Prince" He conversed, Ser Harwin tried to show no emotion as he didn't want to upset his boy. Even though it hurt him on the inside, his son's feelings were more important to him than anything else.
Jacaerys soon stood up and looked at him, a puzzled look taking the place of the smile he once had. "Are you leaving..Ser Harwin..is it because of your brawl with Ser Criston?" Jacaerys replied as a tear escaped his eye.
"Jacaerys you wouldn't understand, I have to leave and return to Harrenhall, you will understand when you're older." Harwin said, his voice filling with sadness and a deep regret.
Jacaerys's puzzled look soon morphed into one that was of sadness, a tear escaped his eye and ran down his cheek as he started looking down at the cold floor, still being speechless. However Jace would feel a hand on his chin as his head was lifted up until he made eye contact with his true father once again.
"You'll have to stay strong." Ser Hawin spoke softly before placing a kiss on his son's forehead. "Protect your brothers, help them learn to defend themselves, I will be so proud of the warriors they will soon become." Harwin said after, his voice was now filled with pride and honor.
Jacerrys tried to grab his arm and stop him but Ser Harwin narrowly moved out the way and disappeared. Tears began to swell up on his eyes before falling from them and onto the floor before rushing out to grab one last glimpse of his hero. A sudden realisation took ahold of the boy's mind, the truth was clear and he knew it, Harwin was always acting fatherly towards him, now it all made sense in Jace's head. "Father don't go, please don't go." He called out, his head was like a roaring fire, he didn't care if anyone heard him, he just wanted Ser Harwin to return.
