PERHAPS IT WAS DISAPPOINTMENT or something similar. It's not like M/n didn't anticipate this but it still hurt no matter how often this happened.
How long has it been since Johan has last been seen? M/n possibly also couldn't ask any of Johan's friends because M/n didn't even know if they existed.
Johan was a mystery for him or a puzzle.
If you move and put the right pieces together you always get a surprisingly new picture. Every version of Johan looked beautiful.
He still didn't fully get used to using sign language and the people in his surrounding didn't either, but it was a significant process in comparison to the first time.
But he wouldn't stop losing faith in Johan. This time he would tie himself down with the promise and wait.

"You sure are desperate Johan." The lab owner said Johan was barely even standing on his feets.
The laboratory was trashed and the owner nearly unharmed. He was panting and trying to regain his focus.
"Is there something particular that makes you this desperate?" He kept his distance from Johan because he wasn't sure how strong that guy was actually, even with drugs.
Johan didn't even need to think twice because two people flashed in front of his eyes.
"Yes, a promise."
"I see." They exchanged a few more words before the old guy pulled a sly move and Johan was as good as passed out now.
That's right, he's intending to keep this promise no matter what.

The days were now back to the usual before he met Johan. Feeding cats, going to get grocery, fear that he'll see his ex again.
Usually if Johan was with him, he would feel safe and treasured - he probably didn't even know that M/n liked him ever since he found out he had pets.
Especially dogs.
But oddly enough his ex kept on coming back to harass him ever since he found out where he lived and at some point he didn't have a choice but to move.
He wanted to wait for Johan at the same place but he prioritized his safety over the promise - but this doesn't mean he won't keep it.
He left a letter in a place where only Johan would walk to, to tell him about his situation.
The letter wasn't long since M/n believed that Johan would come back and he really did.
Except he didn't really find the letter.

Johan finally returned to the place that he's been longing to go. After being kept at that hospital for too long he only hoped to see M/n.
But there was one problem.
M/n was gone.
Did he not keep his promise? The cats also turned away from the neighborhood ever since M/n left this place.
His mind raced everywhere and he could not find a single trace of the person he loved.
After being locked up he realized how much his time with M/n meant to him. It made him see things that he never saw before.

Johan didn't leave this place until it was dark, heck he was even so desperate to storm over to his ex and ask him where he went.
The only answer he received was to fuck off and go mind his own business with M/n. He got beaten up for a second time.
Never in his life did he ever feel as desperate as this - the emptiness that was usually filled with laughter is now gone along with M/n.
Will they meet again?
