“I know last week's class on the Wu Tang Clan was overwhelming for some of you all. But please make no mistake, the section on Raekwon the Chef will be on the midterm.Mmkay?” Professor Telpfy told them as he walked around the class, walking over to his desk and grabbing a stack of papers
“Now, for tonight's class, our lesson is filing taxes. More specifically, filing my taxes. Still more specifically, how do I file my taxes?” He asked, causing them all to give him confused looks, some students groaning at his foolishness,’Now, with that being said, I present to you a pop quiz. if you all can fill out these forms using my information, I'm pretty sure an "A" will be waiting for you on the other side. I've also been told that, uh, it helps to have receipts, so…” he trailed off and left the room
“Oh, hey, Miss Teen Vogue,” Sky greeted Zoey as she walked to her seat,”How's the new gig?” she questioned earning a scoff from Nomi
“You really have to ask? Just check her Insta,” Nomi said with a chuckle as she gave Zoey a teasing grin
‘What's that supposed to mean?” Zoey asked offended, though everyone smirked at her
“It just means you're flooding our feeds, boo,” Nomi replied, raising a brow at her
“Yeah, I had to comb through of your bathroom selfies just to find a picture of my cousin getting married,” Jazz told her, rolling her eyes
“What? I'm excited. I'm loving my new job and loving the followers I'm getting loving my new job,” Zoey told them smiling,”Yesterday, Janelle Monae liked one of my photos,” she raved excitedly
“Stop. I can't,” Nomi groaned, rolling her eyes,”Janelle Monae is so overrated,” she shook her head
“Oh, Nomi, don't do that,” Zoey muttered, looking down at her papers
“Don't do what?” Nomi questioned, raising brow at her friend
“The thing you do when you think that somebody's too famous and/or successful and you feel like you have to cut them down to size,” Zoey replied, earning nods from the twins
“Excuse me, okay? I may be a lot of things, but I'm not a troll,” Nomi denied the accusation, causing everyone to give her a look
“No?” Zoey mocked, furrowing her brows at her friend
“I have strong opinions, and I share them, okay?” Nomi defended,”I mean, I'm, like, basically Gloria Steinem,” she compared, chuckling slightly
“Are you really getting caught up in that stuff?” Aaron questioned, finally getting into the conversation,”Look, social media is a legitimate tool to affect the world. Power to the digital people. I never like, comment, post, retweet anything unless I aligns with my, you know, political progressive vision,” he told her, causing Luca to chuckle
“Word. That's fire. Uh, what's your handle?” Luca asked, taking out his phone
“Oh, it's @Power ThaDigitalPeople,” Aaron told him, looking pleased that Luca of all people wanted to follow him
“Blocked,” Luca muttered, and put down his phone as Aaron flicked him off and the rest laughed
Just then Arlo walked into the class looking massively hungover. They wobbled a little as they walked up the stairs and took their seat by Vivek. They wore their robe and pajama pants, a beanie and sunglasses.
This had been semi usual since the blackout night. No one was forsure sure of why they were acting strange but it was starting to get out of hand. They were drinking just about everyday and were drunk off their ass. They’d say things that didn’t make sense and were seemingly avoiding Jazz like the plague.
