The gang was at Titanum, all eating and drinking. Arlo sat next to Luca and Vivek, listening to the other talk as they texted with Doug.
"Okay, for real, is there something in the water around here?" Jazz spoke up, furrowing her brows as she saw all the 'couples' around them,"Was there some event, some movie, some Drake song that said black guys should stop dating black girls?"
"Maybe it was those Wendy Williams vacation photos," Luca chimed in boredly, earning a nod from Vivek
"They were pretty devastating," Vivek agreed, giving Jazz a sympathetic smile
"I'm just starting to think this shit is a problem," Jazz snapped, glaring at the many black boys and white girls she saw past their table
"Come on," Ana said, shrugging lightly,"It's probably just a slow night," she tried, earning a nod from Nomi
"No, it's a slow semester," Jazz muttered, Sky nodding in agreement
"Facts," Sky sighed,"In high school, dudes were always checkin' for us," she revealed, her sister humming in agreement
"Yeah, but didn't you go to, like, South Central High?" Vivek asked, causing the twins to raise a brow,"I'm just saying that we're at a primarily white institution. There's a much smaller pool of black guys here," He clarified
"Yeah, and some of the pool are gay, most of the athletes like white girls, and we're left with very few options-" Jazz started
"-Who don't seem to be checkin' for us," Sky finished, both girl sighing simultaneously
"Oh, my God, are you guys telling me that you haven't had any action in six months?" Nomi questioned, looking concerned for the girls as Jazz rolled her eyes
"I mean, we've had some action," Jazz mumbled, going on to tell them how she and her sister go to a fancy restaurant to eat their firecracker salmon rolls
"That doesn't make any sense," Ana mumbled, furrowing her brows
"You know what else doesn't make any sense?" Luca asked, earning their attention,"How good the brown bread is. Like, why do they even bring out the sourdough?" his words gaining a chuckle from Arlo and Vivek
"Why don't you guys just try dating someone other than black guys?" Nomi suggested, causing the twins to raise a brow at her,"I mean, college is the place to open up and explore,"
"Yeah, I mean, Nomi's basically been through every Olympics-eligible country since she's been here," Ana chimed in sarcastically
"Yeah, it's crazy," Nomi chuckled, nodding in agreement,"Can you believe Canada is the hold-out?" she asked, not reading the table as the others simply stared at her
"But why do I have to open up?" Sky asked, shaking her head in annoyance,"Why should we have to change what we want? I like what I like," she declared
"That's what I'm saying. I mean, I'm all about black girls," Aaron spoke up,"Don't take this wrong, Nomi, but there's no way I could, like, go there with you," he said, earning unamused stares from all of them
"And hey, Aaron, don't take this wrong, but I'd make you wear two condoms," Nomi retorted, causing everyone to chuckle as Aaron rolled his eyes
"Okay. Look, I just could never imagine not dating a Queen," Aaron shrugged, leaning back in his chair as Luca scoffed
"Word?" Luca snarked, raising a brow with a grin as Arlo laughed, finally putting down their phone,"That's how you feel?"
"Yeah, that's how I feel," Aaron answered, giving them both a confused look,"But from the way you said that, I'm thinking that you feel differently?"
