"i need more friends, you're so boring." y/n groaned, throwing a pillow from her bed at taehoon who caught it with ease.

"it's not my fault you always wanna lay in bed all day and smoke. maybe get a hobby—" the male was cut off rudely by another hard pillow close to the face, catching it again in annoyance.

"i do have hobbies! i'm just so bored of them, we need something new to do hoonie." she sighed as she thought of something new they could try, something she hasn't done in korea yet.

"let's go play pool, loser. ever played that?" taehoon suggested, catching the girl's interest. she quickly got up off her comfortable bed, patting down her school uniform with a grin.

"let's go! my uncle took the car so we need to take the bus," she gathered up some cash with her phone off her nightstand, leaving her room quickly with taehoon following behind at a slow pace.

the two friends walked to the bus together with y/n one-sidedly talking to taehoon as the words just flowed in and out one ear to the other. they paid for their own bus tickets as they boarded, y/n sitting down on the last unoccupied seat and making the tall boy stand over her. she stopped talking while they were on the bus, continuing her idle chatter when they got off the walk the rest to the pool place.

"i'll pay for our time, but you have to pay for our food." taehoon told y/n as he pulled out his card at the front register, swiping it as he paid for their hour of time. she nodded quietly as the cashier gave the two a thumbs up.

"you guys can take the second table over there," the cashier instructed. y/n gave a thumbs up to the worker, the two friends turning their backs as they walked over to the table.

the smell of cigarettes hit the two like a bus, making y/n turn her attention to the source. she saw a group of teens around their age smoking their cigs, making her curl her lip in disgust. what caught her attention though, was the small boy from her class with glasses hanging with the delinquent group. her intense eyes stared into his, making him turn his attention to the intimidating woman that bore into his soul. he flinched slightly, taking a step back in fear.

"what's up jaeho?" one of his friends with a cigarette in-between his lips asked jiho, his eyes flicking over to y/n's presence who now held a pool stick in her hand but still had that intimidating stare directed at jiho.

"o-oh, that's just.. y/n l/n from my class!" the timid boy responded, his voice had a light stutter.

"hey, jaeho's classmate! wanna join us?" the unnervingly excited boy asked the girl, who had a confused expression now.

"sure, why not?"

"hey, i already paid for our time dumbass."

"it's whatever hoonie, i'll pay you back double," y/n rolled her eyes as she strolled over to the other groups table, making her friend follow behind unwillingly.

"before we start, just letting you know i've never played before. be nice..?" she trailed off in a way like she was asking for his name.

"james gong! don't worry, i'll go easy." he replied, giving a sly grin to the girl who grinned back.

"y/n l/n. who's going first?" she asked as james rearranged the balls. it seemed he was the only one playing this round from his group, and it seemed taehoon didn't want to play either so it was just the two new acquaintances playing.

"i'll go first since you haven't played, that fair?" y/n gave a simple nod as she watched james light another cigarette before putting his hand on the pool table and lining his cue stick in-between his fingers and pointing it at the white ball. he struck it with directed force, letting out a puff of smoke from his lips as the multi-colored balls went their own ways, none making it in just yet.

"i do it like this right hoonie?" she placed her hand on the table like james did, replicating his stick placement as well. taehoon gave her a nod of approval after taking a quick glance and going back to his phone after. she locked her attention on a striped ball nearly in at the top right, directing the stick's force into the white ball and making it in the hole.

"wow! great job for your first time. you can keep going, but you have to get only the striped ones in. if you miss though, its my turn." james explained with that same unnerving grin. y/n gave thumbs up before positioning herself in a comfortable position towards the cue ball. she aimed for another striped ball near the top pocket, hitting the white cue ball at a precise angle and getting another ball in once again. she tried another time, but unluckily she missed, pushing the striped ball farther away from the hole.

james laughed before taking his turn, rubbing his hands together before getting in position. he managed to get two balls in one, hollering in excitement as he continued. he got in two more turns before missing the third, whining playfully as y/n went up next.

"im gonna test my luck on this one," she said with a smirk, calculating every possible way to get as many balls in at once. being a genius, she tested her luck and got in another two balls, leaving her with three left. she went slow this turn, getting in one ball. she managed to get one more ball in before missing her last shot, leaving her with one last ball and the 8 ball to get in. james began to whistle, prepping himself to get in his last 3 balls in as well. as expected, he got the 3 balls individually but luckily for y/n, he had missed the 8 ball.

"you better hope i don't get this shit in!" y/n laughed, placing her stick in between her fingers as she hit her last striped ball, making it in clean. she prepped for the 8 ball, shifting herself in a odd angle since the ball was in a tough spot. letting out a nervous breath, her stick smacked the ball, making it hit the edges of the table before making it in a bottom hole, making everyone's mouth dropped. y/n cheered in victory, ruffling taehoon's hair and jumping around.

"woo, that was a fun match! i'm pretty hungry, food anyone?" y/n offered, making everyone jump in excitement for the free meal. she shook hands with james for the game, who didn't mind losing. she bought everyone food from the place next door before they placed a few more games until it got dark. her and taehoon went their separate ways, walking themselves home. they would never guess what kind of trouble this would get them in so soon.
