There was a small knock on the door. Seraphina walked towards door. She opened the door and looked at Diana who stood in front of her. Diana looked at her and became surprised. She scanned the outfit Seraphina was wearing. No words escaped from her mouth. Seraphina realized her gaze. She took the initiative and spoke.
"Umm I didn't know what to wear... Is it yours? " Diana quickly shaked her head and gave a nervous smile.
"N-no no um mother got it for you when she came... It's just it's a little surprising. Yo-you said you'll never wear this. "She looked at the ground after finishing.
Seraphina was wearing a dress with dark green on top and while on bottom flowing parts. It has flowers prints from the sides. (Look at the pic at top) . " Oh ,The dress in my closet were very puffy and big and just for big events you know. They're also very dark colour mostly black, gray and very dead onces. "
Diana noticed Seraphina was nervous which never happened before or she didn't remembered it. Diana looked at the ground and slowly murmured. "um right. It's just you told this dress is cheap and not up to your standard and liking. " Diana quickly realized what she just said. She shaked her head and began to apologize "No I mean. It's suits you um fath-sorry step father has called for lunch. "
Seraphina was nervous herself but Diana was about to shake in fear. Seraphina maintained her posture and signed the girl to move forward. They both walked together. In the hallway. All the guards and maids bowed to them until they passed them. It was very awkward for Seraphina as she didn't remembered this much of act from them.
They came at the the table and saw all the me members sitting there.Diana bowed and went to sit on the left side of the table. Victoria mouth immediately jerked up when she saw Seraphina. "Seraphina , Do you like the dress I got you. " She beamed with happiness.
"Um yeah. Its- It feels light and nice." Victoria nodded at the reply and the Archduke remained silent. Seraphina took a chair next to her step mother. The lunch was silent. But Seraphina needed to ask for permission from her so called father for something. It felt like she was just speaking words to her father for the first time. She silently spoke up. "Umm father. I wanted to go to but few dresses. "
Her father's face was the same. He called for Diana. "Diana, take her to buy few dresses after lunch. Take 2 guards or maids with you. I have a matter to attend to. Meet me at my room. " Diana nodded and everyone resumed to dinner except Seraphina.
She was the one to ask for permission not Diana. He should have talked to her. What can't he treat her like his daughter? "Father!! Do I have the permission. "
Everyone stopped eating for a minute and looked at Seraphina but her eyes looked after her father. The Archduke nodded. "You don't have to ask. " After that the meal was over. He and his new wife left the table. Before that Victoria gave Seraphina a sweet smile and wished for her to recover soon. Diana also left to meet the Archduke leaving Seraphina all alone.
A cough was heard by Seraphina. She looked at the person who caused it and gave a nervous smile. She began to blabber "You didn't came to eat. I-I was worried.. A little. Thought you left. " She got up and fixed her dress.
"Shall I have the permission to go to the market with you. "He raised his eyebrows. Seraphina smiled at him and gave a nod. He again began to speak. " Don't feel so nervous or your personality will become a scared, weak little girl. Got it? "He putted his hand on her shoulder.
Somehow Seraphina felt very warm from his words more than the touch. She gave him a genuine smile and spoke. " l will remember to be a strong and brave character. Umm I wore the dress that my...step- stepmom gave and she looked happy. "
