Life of an ordinary 10 year old kid is really the most happy phase of their life. They play games, have whatever they want from their parents and what not they do in order to enjoy their childhood. But it was that time when the reality of this world got exposed to me. I was just like a little flower which just bloomed from its bud that time..yet the cruel plucker didn't spare me.
I lived with my grandparents and uncle from a very little age..maybe like one or two years old. I didn't know exactly what had happened to my parents; just heard from my grandmother that they died in an accident when they went to visit Shimla.
I was raised in modest circumstances, neither in luxury nor in too much hardship. I used to get daily meals two times a day and I had two sets of dress only. I used to spend my whole day in melancholy; sitting in front of the window of my room watching the scenario outside. Yet I would consider it better than my life after.
By the age of 10 yrs my grandparents passed away and I was only left with my uncle. He struggled with productivity and consistency in his work. Despite being employed at a factory for a month, his attendance was sporadic, with barely a week's worth of days worked in a month. Unfortunately, he was grappling with alcohol addiction and a penchant for gambling games which consumed most of his time and resources.
I always sensed a danger from my uncle after my grandparents passed away even though we shared a familial bond. It wasn't without reason that his behavior raised concerns. Every evening, he would bring home an assortment of questionable individuals from outside, whose dubious appearances and furtive demeanor suggested they were trying to conceal their shady dealings in the shadows. Their unsavory presence added to the growing unease. This group of people then used to play a board game and in that many times my uncle lost for which he had to give away the demanded things by the opponent. Like this he slowly gave away all the valuable things of our household.
