Ethan nervously taps the steering wheel of his car. It was a quiet, uneventful night, the cool breeze from his airco keeping being a welcoming sensation after his car having stood in the sun all day. “Why is she so flakey?” Ethan mumbles in frustration. Ethan turns on the radio, they're still broadcasting about the recent murders, the cases are going cold they say, they just keep on yapping their theories. Before Ethan could turn off the radio, he heard a light knocking on his window, Rebecca was waiting for him outside his car. Ethan stepped out of the vehicle, slamming the door behind him, “what made you want to meet me so bad?” He says bluntly, Rebecca seems flustered by his sudden change of tone, “well, I wanted to ask why you keep hanging around that bitch,” she says, her voice sounding just as rude as she always did, “she obviously murdered my friends”. Ethan's face softened up, “what makes you think that?” He says, slightly tilting his head. “Isn't it obvious?” Rebecca said, clearly annoyed, “she wanted to get rid of us cuz we knew how shitty of a person she really is”. Ethan leaned on his car, “could say the same about you bitch” he thought, but he didn't want to spoil the fun yet, he wanted to hear her out.
“How can you act so casually?” Rebecca almost yelled “people died! My friends died!”. “I'm sorry” Ethan responds, “but my mom taught me to always look at the positive things first before sulking” he kept his warm smile on his face. “Whatever,” Rebecca sighs audibly, “I really don't care if you don't believe me, I just want to warn you. That girl is a real nasty bitch”. “How come?” Ethans asks, pretending like he's showing genuine interest, his face even shifting to a nervous look. “She lives in a total dump of an apartment with her family, have you ever wondered how she got the money to afford going to college?,” Rebecca speaks, her voice filled with disrespect, “how she can afford those nice clothes? We knew she slept with older men”. Ethan could feel his blood begin to boil, “how could she just say those things about MY Olivia” he thinks to himself, still keeping his composure. “And now she's using you,” Rebecca continues, “that shy girl thing is 100% just an act, I can guarantee you that”. Ethan's face now having a blank expression on it, he stares Rebecca straight in the eyes as she keeps spewing her filthy lies. Rebecca started to notice the cold and calculated look on Ethan's face, “this is getting weird, maybe I should leave.
Before Rebecca could've turned away, Ethan had her pinned to the floor, his hands wrapped around her throat. Rebecca loomed at him in shock as Ethans happy demeanor had changed to a cold hearted stare, his grip around her throat tightening. Rebecca, gasping for air, reaches for Ethan's hands trying to get her to loosen his grip. While struggling and fighting, trying to get air, her vision slowly begins to fade. Ethan can feel her go limp beneath his grip, but he does not let go, despite her face going blue, despite her foaming at the mouth, his grip does not loosen. “After all the things Rebecca said, does she really still deserve to live?” Ethan thinks to himself, letting go of Rebecca’s throat, leaving a deep impression of where his hands used to be. Ethan stares at her with disgust in his eyes. Ethan makes his way back to his car, leaving her body in the ditch.
Ethen drove around for what seemed like hours, the stars shining in the sky like eyes staring down upon him, he could feel a cramping feeling in his chest, he did not understand what he was feeling, “regret?” He thinks to himself. Ethan teddies his hair before riding into the drive through, he could not believe his eyes who saw taking his order, it was Olivia. “Welcome to McDonald's how can I help you?” Olivia asked, having a warm and welcoming smile on her face. “An iced tea please” Ethan responds, almost being too stunned to speak. “That'll be 2,99” Olivia says in her sweet customer service voice. Ethan quickly scribbles something on a note and hand her both the note and the money, call me after work it said. “You can move to the next window” she said with a slight blush on her face, “she looks so pretty in the moonlight” Ethan thinks to himself before moving on. Accepting his ice tea, he cannot get Olivia off his mind.
Sitting in the parking lot with his ice tea, completely lost in thought, the sound of his phone ringing snapped him back to reality. When Ethan picks up the phone he gets greeted by the soft voice of Olivia.
