It feels like it's been back-to-back games lately, and I'm struggling to keep up with my homework as is. I can't imagine how the girls are managing. We went from having a game on Thursday with Maryland, which we won, to today, which has been a whirlwind.

I went to classes, rushed home to grab my luggage, and made my way to the airport with the rest of the team by 5 PM. The waiting for the plane was hell because it got delayed. KK and Ice kept complaining.

KK sighed dramatically, "This delay is not it. We could have been halfway there by now."

Ice nodded in agreement. "nah fr kk and I could be napping in a comfy bed instead of these hard ass chairs."

Nika, Aaliyah, Ines, and Azzi were in their own world with the rest of the team, laughing about something that happened during practice. Paige is sleeping on the chairs beside me, and here I am, stressing because I'm about to meet Paige's family and stay with them for the whole weekend. Meanwhile, the rest of the team is going to a hotel nearby.

Paige stirs beside me, blinking awake. She smiles sleepily at me. "Hey, you okay?"

I force a smile. "Just nervous about meeting your family."

Paige reaches over and squeezes my hand. "Don't worry, they'll love you. And I'll be right there with you the whole time."

Azzi leans over and winks. "Yeah, Auggie, you've got this. Plus, you'll have the best tour guide ever."

I laugh, feeling a bit more at ease. "Thanks, guys. I needed that."

As we sit there, my mind races with thoughts of homework, games, and the anxiety of meeting her family. The exhaustion from the hectic schedule weighs on me, but I try to push it aside, focusing on the excitement of spending time with Paige and getting to know her family.

The plane finally arrives about an hour after it was supposed to, and we all breathe a sigh of relief as we board. The flight feels wicked quick, and before I know it, we're landing. As the girls hop on the bus to the hotel, Paige pulls out her phone and orders an Uber to her house since her dad couldn't make it to pick us up.

"Guess it's just you and me," Paige says, giving me a reassuring smile.

I nod, trying to hide my nerves. "Yeah, just us."

We wait at the curb for our ride, and the team waves as they head off on the bus. KK shouts out the window, "Have fun, you two! Don't do anything we wouldn't do!"

I laugh and wave back. "See you tomorrow!"

The Uber arrives, and Paige helps load our luggage into the trunk. We settle into the back seat, and I can't help but feel a mix of excitement and anxiety. Paige notices and nudges me gently. "Hey, it'll be fine. My family's excited to meet you."

I take a deep breath. "I know, I'm just... nervous. It's a big deal, meeting your family."

Paige takes my hand and squeezes it. "You've got this, Auggie. And like I said, I'll be right there with you."

The drive to her house is quiet but comfortable. The city lights blur past the window as we chat about the game and our plans for the weekend. Paige fills me in on her family dynamics, which helps ease my nerves a bit.
